Mitchell Marsh may well have extended his potential Test career by being rules out of this series. I could see him getting completely owned by the Pakistan spinners on those surfaces, and discarded. Instead, and assuming he gets back on the park in decent time, he'll still be in the selectors' minds once the team gets back to real venues and proper conditions at home.

On that, why aren't they picking Moises?
He must have been told to have his passport up to date and to be ready to fly out on short notice you'd think. Doesn't quite offer as much with the ball as Marsh, but a bit more along the way as a batsman. You'd hope the 140 in the Shield final hasn't been forgotten already.

absolutely nothing to do with anything apart from moises being in the squad but does anyone remember that top end series in 2008 vs bangladesh? good times coming home from school and seeing bangladesh just get bowled out for 70 odd or us polishing off a small chase. what a series that was

Yeah, I remember that, I remember getting a bit excited when it looked like Tamin and Shakib had a chance of pulling off a chase in one of the games when Australia only scored about 200 or something

I don't understand what's all the fuss about Mitchell Marsh? sure he has great potential with the bat but his bowling is nothing special. He's just another version of Shane Watson 2.0 in terms of all-round ability. But what's interesting is the sudden rise of these fast-bowling all-rounders in the last few years - Marsh, Corey, Neesham, Mclaren, Stokes, Woakes etc

Shane Watson is an excellent bowler IMO. Much better than a 5th seamer. If Mitchell Marsh can bowl as well as Watson that's pretty high praise. The tough thing will be the ability to bat in the top 6.

They need a proper top 6 bat capable of bowling a few old ball overs. Reckon Moises is that close to that right now. Has had great form with the bat in the last few shield seasons and is tidy with the ball.

Might lack the marketability of MMarsh of The Big Show though.

Mois is not a proper top 6 bat.I personally like to see them just picking six proper batsmen when shane watson breaks something but if they feel an allrounder is so necessary and they might be right here given the conditions, i don't really mind younger marsh.
