Why do England continue to play at Lord's against subcontinent sides
They caught us unawares last year where it spun from day 1, session 1

I like it. Its become a real result wicket.

Suppose each team gets Lord's for the ocassion and financial purposes but know you being a bit flippant.

A most un-Pakistan like performance. Were consistently great from start to finish instead of pulling off some crazy burst of brilliance, caught everything, Amir took wickets.

Haha, I actually called it with a friend that if Pakistan wins or draws a match, it'll be at Lord's. It's a ground that suits us more often than not. I can see England putting up a much better fight in the 2nd Test and probably win.

I'm beginning to wonder if maybe England aren't very good ...........
Their cricket organisation isn't very good.
For a start, schedule county cricket during the proper cricket season in England, and in a couple of years, we will start seeing a difference.

they've gotta sack the coach now. I mean series after series of terrible results. If anything they are getting worse. Even if you say the players aren't very good, you gotta replace the coach if they keep losing - and lots of those away tests they've tactically messed it up so bad which comes down to coach/captain.

Root a poor captain too. Tactically but also just doesn't exude confidence/authority/other leadership qualities. Unfortunately they are massively lacking in options. Buttler has been mentioned. Probably the best captaincy qualities in the current team but it would be a massive punt to make Buttler captain when he doesn't really warrant a place in the team as a batsman.

A lot of credit to Pakistan though. As much as England were poor, Pak were very good. They prepared better than England, and they showcased better skills during the game.

The last time England lost three consecutive series was during their tour of South Africa in 1999/2000. Could we be on the verge of a 21st century first?

Can see why Pakistan are backing Imam.

Pity about Babar but even with his mediocre test record you know there is more to come. Mickey Arthur did the same with SA when he started our re-build where he backed Amla and AB who were very up-and-down to start but he gave them belief. I like how he said he believes Babar can get 10000 test runs.

If Pakistan can find another out-right quick bowler to push this current lot expect some good times ahead.

I have faith in Abbas. Hopefully he will be able to take over the pace attack from Amir who just hasn't been the same since he's come back. Plus the lad like McGrath which is a plus.

Hope England make huge changes and stop being sentimental to players who haven't performed properly in ages. If you're not good enough anymore, then it's bye-bye.

Steve Rixon has been with this team for 2 years now. As anyone familiar with Pakistan cricket knows, Pakistan and fielding don't go together. There has been good days followed by dreadful days. There have been times when you're on the verge of tearing your hair because you know the team cannot possible train more, and they still go and drop sitters in the match. Steve Rixon is leaving at the end of this series. Pakistan produced their greatest fielding performance in this match. Could not have been a better tribute and farewell.

The most damning stat there is how the hell have NZ and Pakistan only played 4 test matches in the last year......
