'Official' Pakistan in West Indies

The Tiger King
So does Gul. It's an under-used weapon in Tests, particularly on roads (not that this is a road at all, obviously).
yeah I seriously don't understand why bowlers don't use it as often in tests. Waqar used to use it to great effect in his bowling. Had an awesome SR primarlily due to his yorker.....

another interesting comment on cricinfo..........

"Tony writes in: "I am a huge WI fan. Watching this test match on the tele and reading commentary tells me two things: 1)Test cricket is the pinnacle of this wonderful game. I am more interested in watching a cracking contest here than watching Bravo and Gayle light it up in the IPL. The lack of quality of cricket in the IPL is getting apparent 2) Cricket is alive and well in the WI. The ODIS has great crowds and there are people in the stands today." I'm enjoying this thoroughly as well, after a month of IPL"

I'd drop smith for samuels. He's just a free wicket for hafeez now.
Yeah, that's the only change I would make too....

If Pakistan persist in using Hafeez to open the bowling, then we may as well get a middle-order batsman who's supposed to know how to play spin to open the batting, i.e. Samuels.

I get the feeling Hafeez only opened due to Smith, and only continued to bowl once Misbah saw how much turn he was immediately getting. If Samuels was opening the batting and the pitch wasn't .. this .. then Gul would no doubt open with Wahab.

misbah's captaincy has not been all that great so far
Picking two specialist spinners despite having Hafeez to bowl as well, and then opening the bowling with the latter in both innings - not only to get his bunny out but as a genuine ongoing tactic due to the pitch conditions - was all Misbah brilliance. He read the pitch in a way the West Indies failed to despite having the groundsman in their ears. ;)

With an effective 140 or so for 6, WI are still the favourites here - another 40 runs and it should be beyond Pakistan.

Just loathe these win toss, bat first, win game pitches from the bottom of my heart - no matter how many people vax eloquent about 'gripping test match cricket'. Pretty ordinary batting and some good bowling on a poor pitch; that is what this really is.

Hoping Baugh stands up here. I've always rated him a bit for some reason. 12 off 15 balls including two beautiful offside fours before going back to a half volley and getting out lbw seems the most likely outcome though.
