I can't recall a team having such a dominant left arm pace attack.Or was there one?I remember Srilanka had an abundance of left handers in their side during the late 1990s early 2000s,but i don't think they played with 3 pacers. They played with 2 if i recall correctly.
Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Ashish Nehra.

Had a wade through Statsguru - best I could find was Wasim Akram, Saleem Jaffer and Kabir Khan.
IIRC correctly Wasim Akram and Saleem Jaffar had played together and Wasim Akram and Kabir Khan had played together but the three of them never played together

It certainly does. That one and Chennai 99 had me down in the dumps for a pretty long time. The World Cup win has eased the pain though. :D

I felt worse when we lost the 3rd Tests at home to Pakistan and England in 2005 and 2006 TBH. Always feel like a loss when you concede a series lead at home.

Chennai '99 was terrible obviously, that was just heartbreaking. In hindsight though, I guess we were part of something special, though we lost.

Yeah that sucked but Kaneria bowled extremely well.

However in this match (and in Chennai 99) we had Pakistan dead and buried and then lost. You should never lose a game when you have the opposition 5-6 for **** all on day 1 like we did in both those tests.

So good that the current team has ruthlesness in it now. Under Dhoni we (generally) aren't afraid to put the foot down when on top.

Day 4 of India vs. South Africa third test 2010/11 notwithstanding  (even with the WC win this still angers me)

Yeah, indeed. Got to credit Pakistan (Akmal and Razzaq) for scraping together a reasonable 1st innings total after that early carnage. I guess the real failure must have happened when India conceded around 600 in the 3rd innings. Didn't watch that part.

That Cape Town game was extremely annoying. Not having one more penetrating fast bowler in the attack (Zaheer had an overdue off-day and Harbhajan got no support) really cost us. Still, Indian teams of the past would then have gone on to lose after that, so we should probably not complain too much.

Khatmal's and Razzaq's finest hour. I remember everything from that Test. I was so utterly frustrated in that first over madness, and completely depressed by the time that sixth wicket fell. Then came The Stand by those two. Knowing their form and career graph now, it seems completely amazing that they were able to buck India like that. Incidentally, still remember this amusing bit of posting from Beleg describing the Pathan hat-trick:

There ya go.

0-1
Oops, I meant 0-2.
A thousand appologies, It's actually 0-3.
And finally…

I know this is just a nightmare. I'm going to wake up any second now....
Woke up and the nightmare was gone by the close of play.

Probably the only time Khatmal really helped Pak to win.......actually I would love to give that win away if only Khatmal would have stopped playing after that match

Khatmal and Razzaq also saved the first Test of the 2005 series BTW (in Mohali), the guy has form for clicking against India. :(
