Oh please... these are the same "minnows" that drew with you guys last April... and whupped you in the ODIs. As for South Africa white washing Windies ... they only won 2 out of 4 tests... the rest were drawn... that's not all that impressive.

As for Pakistan struggling badly... well that's your opinion... they did quite well without their two best bowlers and second best batsmen.
I wouldn't worry about it. That guy wouldn't give Pakistan credit if they whitewashed Australia in Australia with half their side missing.

lol.

Great win for Pakistan. To be honest, I did expect them to win this series. I don't think even a full strength Windies side can match Pakistan, even if they are missing Shoaib and Sami. The Windies cannot expect to win more than the odd test match if only two of their batters are gonna get them the runs and one bowler is gonna get them the wickets.

The steps forward Collymore and Edwards have made in this series are really promising though. Add that to the improvement of Collins and the potential (as yet unrealised) of Best, and there is some hope for the West Indies.

Also, for Pakistan, it's really good to see Younis Khan get another hundred, and Shabbir continue to impress, along with Kaneria. Also Afridi had a pretty solid series. The signs are very good for when they get Shoaib and Gul back.

I think a Shoaib/Shabbir/Gul/Kaneria attack with Razzaq or Afridi as backup would rank as probably the third strongest in the world currently, and could do a fair bit of damage.

Yeah, but they all need to be consistent. And that word has been alien to the Windies team since the early 90s. Plus, their batting is woefully weak. I mean, Sarwan and Gayle have both played only one or two innings of real substance over the whole Caribbean season. And they are supposed to be amongst the established players.

I think Younis being in form is a great, great asset for Pakistan. In the long term, I think he will make an even better skipper than Inzy. He has seems to have good energy and good cricketing acumen in him. That is evident even when he is batting. Shame Shabbir has a dodgy action. He has potential. I hope he corrects his action and still remains a good bowler. I also think Pak should play with four specialist bowlers and one of the two in Malik/Razzaq/Afridi. Playing with just 3 specialist bowlers won't work against better sides.

Agreed there, as I said when I posted my side earlier in the thread. If Malik can make a name for himself as an opener he can certainly remain in the side, but he has to warrant his place as a batsman alone, otherwise he will miss out alongside either Razzaq or Afridi. My personal preference out of the three all-rounders would be Razzaq, but he has had plenty of chances and hasn't really proven himself at test level yet, although he played a good innings in India and his bowling has improved of late. Afridi too has outdone most expectations recently, particularly with the ball. Among the batsmen, I can't see how any of Kamal, Younis Khan, Inzamam or Youhana can be left out, so with an all-rounder and four specialists and Akmal as the keeper, that means Younis may well be forced to open with one of Butt, Hameed or Malik.

Good riddance... enough with the blind old farts... we need young umpires...
Shepard has not been nearly as dreadful as Bucknor. He earned his spot on the elite panel right until the last day. Those are very harsh words.

This has been one of the weakest WI side i can remember, just few months back SA team white washed them, yet Pakistan struggled badly against them and were able to drew the series with pure luck.
Hmm, I seem to remember you and your cronies describing it as one of the weakest Pakistan sides ever that then drew the Tests and won the ODI's in India.

I'm looking forward to England's tour of Pakistan this October... Shoaib/Shabbir/Gul/Kaneria as well as Razzaq and Afridi will give Pakistan very strong bowling.

Will they all be able to fit in the team?

If you pick the first 4 then Razzaq won't be in the XI surely, and Afridi would realistically need to open.

I think Afridi can bat at 6...

Salman Butt/Shoaib Malik/Hameed
Younis Khan
Inzamam-Ul-Haq
Yousuf Youhana
Asim Kamal
Shahid Afridi/Abdul Razzaq
Kamran Akmal
Umar Gul/Mohammad Sami
Shabbir Ahmed
Shoaib Akhtar
Danish Kaneria

Shoaib, Shabbir, Gul, Kaneria, Sami, Razzaq, Afridi, Rana will all be in the mix.

In the end, i think they will go

Shoaib, Sami, kaneria, Razzaq and Afridi as the bowlers/all rounders

Malik
Butt
Khan
Inzi
Youhana
Afridi
Razzaq
Akmal
Sami
Shoaib
Kaneria

There's Two quicks, a medium, two leggies, and an offy. Everything ;)

I'd rather Shabbir over Sami, providing his action passes scrutiny.

Just a quick modification (to suite my personal taste) in deeps team.

Taufeeq
Butt
Khan
Inzi
Youhana
Kamal
Akmal
Sami
Shabbir
Shoaib
Kaneria

Butt and Taufeeq in my opinion are the only two Pakistani batsmen to have solid enough opening techniques.

Khan, Inzi, Youhana, Kamal is a pretty capable middle-order. With Sami coming at eight, the tail starts relatively early but this is a risk you would have to take if you want four specialist bowlers to take 20 wickets against a capable opposition.

Afridi, Razzaq and to a large extent Malik, Rana and Hameed provide some good back-up.

My team would look something like this (tests):

1: Salman Butt
2: Shoaib Malik
3: Younis Khan
4: Inzamam
5: Yousuf youhana
6: Shahid afridi
7: Abdul Razzaq
8: Kamran Akmal
9: Shabbir
10:Shoaib
11:Kaneria

For ODI:

1: Salman Butt
2: Shahid Afridi
3: Shoaib Malik
4: Yousaf Youhana
5: Inzamam
6: Younis Khan
7: Abdul Razzaq
8: Kamran Akmal
9: Naveed ul Hassan
10:Shoaib Akhtar
11:Shabbir/ Gul

I wouldnt really prefer Kaneria for ODIs at the moment!!!!
