Interestingly, Pakistan have been playing sides that were mostly depleted.They played England that were without their 3-4 frontline players, and now they are taking on SL that are without 3-4 senior players.

I guess the only way for Pak to beat those sides are when those sides happen to be depleted, but i think Pak luck will ran away while playing overseas even when they play depleted sides!

I notice you neglected to mention their vistory over a full-strength India...

You got to love some Indian supporters, Sri Lanka are depleted to the max and they can still find ways to make Pakistan seem they have no chance.

Its only one supporter(nehrafan/vandemataram/wahindiawah) with his multiple accounts(IndianByHeart,RolledOver etc) & not "some indian supporters".And,I haven't lost any respect for India or Indian fans because of the idiotics of that one man alone.

Did anyone see Samaweera dissmissal, it pitched 2 feet outside off-stump and came back to hit leg . The ball to Sangakarra was also special.

Umar is a decent prospect, and certainly a better bet than Rana, but for some reason he gets a real bad treatment at the hands of Inzi/Bob.

I think both Gul and Asim Kamal should be in the team.

Hell, I'm a club-level seamer and I'm inspired by McGrath. Doesn't mean much.
Asif is special though, really bowls some lovely in-cutters and holds a great line.

By being inspired by McGrath alone doesn't make a bowler special (Salvi though was a good propect, injuries really troubled him), by mentioning that i was indicating a change in Pakistan's approach.

Pak, in the past has been producing pacers that were known for their pace rather than anything else. Mohd Akram,Mohd Zahid, Akhtar,Sami,Yasir Ali etc were all pacy bowlers.These guys (gul and Asif) are different in the sense that their emphasis are more on line and length.

Asif can bowl both the in-coming ball aswell as the outgoing ball with the same degree of effectivness. Both Sanga and Samaraweera got bowled leaving the ball. The beauty of those dissmissals was that one is a left-hander while the other batsman is a right-hander.
