Well in the words of Woolmer, if we see this match as a football game, then Lanka is 3-1 ahead.Thats what he had to say about this game.

SL can easily set a minimum target of 350 runs, and such a target would be very difficult to get on such a pitch.I wouldn't have given even India much chance to chase 350+ on such a pitch in fourth innings.

Its not just Sri Lankan supporters, it is something I have noticed about Sri Lankan teams too. They dont seem to believe in themselves. The later part of Arjuna's captaincy being the only exception.

The moment the opposition has a couple of good sessions, Sri Lankan shoulders start giving company to their knees.

It is amazing for a team that has been around for so long now and played some great cricket even before they got test status.

How about Herath's chances for the second test or in general in srilanka's future scheme of things, given the fact, Bandara is a preferred option these days?? I thought Herath had always done well whenever he got the chance and also he is as good a bat as Bandara if not better. Any thoughts??

Lanka really punishing Pak bowlers now, i think Lanka would be looking for a target of 400-425.

Don't see how Pak can escape a big defeat, unless it rains.

Samaraweera is a boring batsmen with only 2 gears, slow and crawl. He should be accelrating now.

Sl should really attack Pak now, they have 7 wkts in hand and are already 335 runs ahead, there is nothing in Pakistan bowling and Lanka should add a quick 70-80 runs and then declare the innings.

Even a draw is unlikely, but seeing how Sri Lanka have batted with so ease, I'd say Pakistan can draw if batsmen don't throw their wickets away. No doubt, rain would help.

Pakistan probably have the *WORST* bowling attack atm, and the fielders, God , they are absolute disgrace.

Pak will lose this match and the next one too, this Pak team is good to win matches at messed up home pitches only.

Marc, Some of us genuinely believe that Sri Lanka is a good test team at home and they have shown it in this test. I still consider the current Pakistani team as <Good-at-home> and <Poor-away-team>. Their fast bowling attack(without Akhtar) is looking like Indian attack and spinners a shadow of Kumble/Bhajji.

The pitch has flattened out nicely, the gremlins apparent on days two and three have gone but other than Mohammad Asif the rest of the Pakistani bowlers have been rather clueless. Umar Gul looks like a man who has not played test cricket for two years and Abdul Razzaq is not a test quality bowler. He should not be coming in to bowl first change of the day.

Pakistan’s problem with this side selected is other than Asif, Kaneria and Gul everyone else is a pick and mix bowler, that leaves three bowlers to bear most of the reasonability and if Gul and Kaneria are off colour than Asif
has one hell of a job to do.

Curious to why Sri Lanka are still batting, Pakistan will not chase this and because the pitch is decent to bat on their really should give their bowlers as much time as possible to bowl Pakistan out.

A draw is still a possibility if there is rain intervention + If Inzi and co. bat well and stay put for long occupation on this pitch. This pitch seems to be absolutely dead flat .
