Yeah Younis should open. My best Pakistan ODI XI:

Butt
Younis Khan
Malik
Inzy
Yousuf
Akmal
Razzaq
Afridi
Rana/Gul/Other pace bowler
Akhtar
Asif

Obviously the order can be adjusted providing the situation, such as sending Razzaq or Afridi higher than Akmal if the top order have set a massive platform with only 6-8 overs left. I really like that bowling line-up, particularly with Asif looking like he's going to be a star.
The only time Younis Khan has opened he made 0 from 2 deliveries. BCCI anniversary match I believe.

I can't believe that Pakistan can't even chase 131 runs, that too against a depleted SL attack, their batting got to be the worst in the game.

I'm afraid this match won't even go to wire and Pak will roll over much sooner.
What worse than this?

HP Rinke run out (Kamande/Otieno) 72 121 83 7 0
*T Duffin c Otieno b Ababu 39 78 60 4 0
H Masakadza c Otieno b Odoyo 4 21 21 0 0
+BRM Taylor b Odoyo 40 63 49 0 2
CK Coventry c Kamande b Suji 11 9 10 2 0
E Chigumbura b Ongondo 36 28 26 5 1
GM Strydom c Suji b Odoyo 5 12 6 0 0
NB Mahwire b Ongondo 0 1 1 0 0
P Utseya not out 1 9 5 0 0
RS Higgins b Ongondo 1 4 3 0 0
AJ Ireland not out 1 1 1 0 0

Congrats Pakistan and in particular Razzaq and Naveed .

I guess Sri Lankans need to stop playing International Cricket for a while to stop their persevering losing run !!

Can some one who watched the game tell me if those 2 shocking decisions against Sangakkara and Tharanga given by the same Ump ? and was it Steve Davis (the Casino Manager from South Australia) ?

So he has a great chance to better that!

I think This would be the batting lineup for third match

Farhat
Malik
Afridi
Inzi
Yousuf
Younis
Razzak
Akmal
Rana
Asif
Rao

I think...that this is awful suggestion.
Afridi at 3!!!! If he gets out he will completely wreck the team! 3 is a huge position and what's Shoaib Malik done wrong at that position anyway.

Malik hasn't done anything wrong at number 3 position, but he will be opening the innings, so he can't bat one down.I would prefer Younis to bat at number three but indications are that Inzi is going to try Afridi at number three

It looks now that Younis Khan will bat at one down while Malik will open.Afridi will bat down the order
Malick and Imran Farhat are the openers for today's game. Do not know why Malick has been asked to open his record at batting at number three is exceptional.

Whose opening record is good???

Butt is totally messed up at present and can't be considered.

Akmal failed as an opener but is doing well batting down the order.

Afridi is better off as a lower order batter, thus the only choice left was to have Farhat and Malik open the innings.

Pakistan doing pretty well. For those of you who watched Sri Lankan innings, who was the best pakistani bowler?

Yasir Hameed?, what has he done wrong (not to even be considered). Even though Malick has got off to a flyer this morning I would still rather see him at number three, with Hameed, Younis Khan, Farhat and Butt all competing for the opening slots.

Yasir Hameed...he is still alive??

He was suppose to open for Pak in the Indo-Pak test series, but he developed typhoid and had to miss the first test, to which Inzi was very dissapointed. There after i believe recovered but for some wierd reason he wasn't picked again. If he was so good then then why isn't he again being called up? I guess the Pak selection comm and Inzi just forgot the he ever existed.I do think he is a better player than the likes of Farhat and Nazir.

He played in last ODI against England last winter at Rawalpindi at number three though but he did get the highest score of the game and looked very organised and correct on a pretty testing wicket.
