So a bit of moisture in this pitch before the toss, guessing it might hold together better than the one against SA, really important Pakistan get another few partnerships going and put a 350+ score on the board.

Why didn't SL review that YK lbw? They'd have had him a 100 runs earlier. When reviews are reset after 80 overs it makes no sense to not go for one...that too for a wicket as important as Khan's. Need to keep Pak to about 400 and then bat big in the first innings.

He played well today but the bowling was pretty dire after the first hour or so.
Perera was giving away runs at one end and the pitch slowed up. Good toss to win for Misbah.

Suspect the best time to bat on it will be from lunch day one to stumps day 2, not understanding the Shafiq hate though

Shafiq was one of the few bright players along with Azhar Ali to come out of the 2010 debacle..Was really expecting big things from him and its been 4 years now and I don't think he has improved the way he should have. This is not to say that he is a bad player unworthy of his place.
Last year he failed badly against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
I think a lot of the Pakistan fans want to see someone other than Younis and Misbah to lead the batting. It is expected from Ali and Shafiq to take over and Shafiq hasn't been up to it the way a lot of the fans would like and now with Umar Akmal showing some consistency, there is a tad bit of pressure on Shafiq.

Has scored quality runs at test level, has been rather inconsistent but hasn't been 'ordinary' at test level IMO

How is Shafiq ORDINARY? The man has two test tons vs SA(one of them in SA which even Inzamam and Yousuf did not manage), averages high 30s which is acceptable if you factor Pakistan's lack of talented and good batsmen and also how young his career is. He will only improve with time. You will be hard pressed to name 5 number sixes better than him. While that is partly because there are jokers like nohit Sharma batting at that spot it is still telling.

Good day for Pak, as usual YK coming to the rescue. Good to see Shafiq in the runs hope he can kick on tomorrow. As always with Pak you have to worry as they can easily throw it away and end up 300 all out. Still an evenly balanced game.

No way it's even now. Draw is the favored outcome though.

Disappointed in Dilruwan - expected him to be more of a threat.

By ordinary I meant his temperament. Has squandered so many opportunities.
