Genuinely think peoples brains have turned to mush about slow starts to ODI innings in the early/mid overs. There is so much time for batsman to still finish with a very high strike rate when they're set and not everyone plays from the same starting gear.
In the first odi you should have seen on PakPassion cricket site the amount of abuse Babar Azam was getting for his knock , which I struggled to understand because in my opinion he was one of their best players that day and paced his innings brilliantly.

The Pakpassion tuktuk knock whinging has been so consistent for years that it's the primary reason I tend to be such a staunch Babar defender.

Ha yeah if a team hasn't scored 50 by the 5th over it's basically "this game is already over!!!11one"

Why dont nz play tests vs pak instead of lois
NZ seems happy to field "2nd string" sides to play white ball series that clash with the IPL, but refuses to do the same with Tests. I think I remember reading about last year, CSA suggested that our Test series against them be moved to April, with both teams losing players to the IPL. NZC point blank refused, & laughed at their suggestion to host that series midyear in South Africa.

Shows they are smart.

There's no time to catch up in T20s though and that's where the anchor approach is criticized.
There is almost no odis and tests for the rest of the year with all teams playing only t20s due to the t20 world cup. Will Rizwan and Babar not play for Pak for the rest of the year in that case? That's almost unbelievable.

There is still time. Far less. Genuinely the pure throw your wicket away acceleration is usually in the final 4-5 overs and the rest can vary between 4-8 runs an over to get a platform for that.

This is what quick fixes do to people's brains.

T20i bowling rankings don't mean much especially as many of the top players are rested or in leagues, but still amazing to see Duffy is now at no 1 in the world. Well done that man!
