**Official** Pakistan in New Zealand (3 tests)

Gul's the only quick one, though Aamer hit pace at times. I'm more worried about their normal lengths and yorkers..
Gul is more consistently quick while Aamir can bowl spells where he will touch 147-148 I think he's not strong yet to bowl quick consistently.Asif does need pace:)

Ok, fair enough, I'll take your word on it because I've only really seen them both together in this Test & IIRC Aamer was bowling most deliveries between 137-144 kms, while Gul seemed to be mainly in the 133-141 range (excluding slower balls).

You're replacing a project batsman and a domestic journeyman with a project batsman and a decent 4-5 who will be expected to bat at three.
Yeah. But to call Broom a decent 4-5 is a little unfair, he's one of the best in NZ domestic cricket.

Is Watling good enough to be the next Test opener?
He has a decidedly average FC record and hasn't even had a glutton season.
Even with a load of talent, blooding him soon may cause more damage than good.
Imo he's ready. He scored runs last season and he scored a heap of runs over the winter, plus he just scored 90 in his first game for ND this season. He'll be ready to go by the time we play the Aussie's.

Wow, you're suggesting a few Test debuts against Australia then. Watling, Broom, anyone else?

Could well be, haven't seen enough of Watling's defense to comment on whether he's much of a prospect or not tbh

The test against Bangladesh could be the perfect opportunity to play Watling.
That. Once our selectors realise that Flynn and his merry group of not so goods are not test quality hopefully we bring in the players that will actually play against Australia to play Bangladesh.

Oh that's right, you want Flynn in the ODI side right?

Well I've seen plenty of Watling over the last year or two and I'm backing him to come in and play well from the outset, one of the best batsmen technically I've seen in the past few years or so playing in our domestic cricket.

No. But I've stated before that he'll finish his career as a far better one day batsmen, his game is set-up for it. Would have a few other guys ahead of him though.

I still don't know why were the Pakistanis not taking risks while 7 down and needing 40 odd runs?? It really pissed me off that they were trying to defend 23 overs against charged up pace bowling from Kiwis. They should have taken their chances and should have tried slogging.......

Any how, This just made my day............

'That's top-grade stuff right there. Believe me, I know. You don't want to be using a hammer on those'

According to the Domion Post the injury to Bond is minor and he's missing the series as a precaution so it does not get worse.

Thank **** for that, now that hes got us 1 up can we win the series? All depends on the Basin I reckon, can see Asif, Gul and Aamer being a handful there. O'Brien will enjoy his home ground too and last time I saw Martin there he was enjoying the bounce but otherwise looked pretty flat when the ball got older.

Going to seam around with the way the weather is, would probably bowl first if it was up to me

Has been pissing down for the last couple of days in Wellington. I don't know how that has helped with the pitch preparations. Rain forcast for tomorrow morning as well, so possible late start?

Decent weather forecast for the remaining 4 days. I'm glad I got work off for the 2nd day and not the 1st.
