Great bowling this from Bond. Definitely isn't playing a crucial role in winning his side the test though.
Tim McIntosh's blob the more salient contribution; gave Pakistan a false sense of security which allowed Vettori to dominate.

Bond also bowling lots of short ones today. Doesn't he know they never get wickets? Tisk.

I heart Bond

This series has to be one of the most important for NZ in recent years, against a team full of good or promising players that like us has been through a lot of turmoil, hasn't played enough matches (Pakistan moreso) and has forgotten or hasn't learned how to win. Series could go either way but a win would be a huge step in improving this NZ side.

Now that the ball is 40 overs old we need O'Brien to do what he's good at and bowl a lot of overs, not full tosses and half-trackers.

Need to get rid of these two.

How long a break does Bond need do ya reckon?
Dunno but we could really miss the overs from an Elliott or Ryder in this match if Pakistan bat for a while. Without them Martin, O'Brien and Vettori are going to have to bowl one hell of a lot of overs.

Gotta love Umar Akmal's no fear approach in his first Test no less. Pfft, this Test cricket stuff is piss easy.

Yeah he's been pretty impressive.... i wish i had 2 tv sets ... could watch both matches at same time... might need a third one with India v Sri Lanka starting soon as well.

The Akmals are creaming it! Kamran Akmal has always been a decent bat but Umar is a good find. Seeing Bond's latest spell off and even scoring runs as well means they have a real chance to push on now.
