I doubt that McIntosh is really capable of upping the scoring rate. So we're basically in the situation of him having to get himself out for us to have a decent chance of winning this game (unless one of the others plays brilliantly), which is silly.

On the other hand if we lost early wickets and had McIntosh down the order as insurance he would have been useful.

While I wasn't opposed to McIntosh opening, the time has come for him to play some attacking shots. We're certainly not going to lose in 30 overs of cricket. Hit out or get out buddy.

Yep. New Zealand should be good to go here so playing a few "risky" shots might not be a bad thing.

guys calm down ok. it's obvious vettori is going the other way here. he'll get watling and mcintosh to stay in for 20 overs and if they havent lost too many wickets look to chase about 150 in the last 20.

both ways are good ok.

Oh, it really does sound like its going to rain before not too long, and it won't be a passing shower. :crybaby:

Could be fairly amusing watching McIntosh trying to score quickly - I wonder what his heave to cow corner looks like...

150 off 20 overs is near impossible in a test match.

Especially when Pakistan, like any other team in their situation, will do the best they can to waste time until it's too dark to bowl and will be aiming for yorkers a metre outside offstump if it gets close.

This game is developing nicely but a result is still unlikely. At what stage does it start to tip in favour of a win for either team?

When was the last time New Zealand openers had two 50 run opening stands in one match?

Watling's looking good here. That last four is usually what he'd do to the ball he got out with in the first innings.
