Pleased to see three dismissals for Nuttall in the A game, would like him to be a good reserve left armer to Boult and Wagner.

Less impressed after actually watching the wickets though.

Can't help but worry that if Pakistan win the toss and send us in on one of the recent green tops Abbas could do enough damage to burgle a test.

We've collapsed against worse Pakistani bowlers in their previous tours here (Sami, twice), so it's definitely not beyond the realms of possibility.

Yes absolutely. And Shaheen Afridi and Naseem are pretty dangerous on their day too. Yasir could go either way, wasn’t a factor on the previous tour but might come into play at the Bay Oval. Stacking the batting not a bad option for NZ IMO.

I think Pakistan have a good team, but I'm not sure they actually know how to win test matches. Threw away a good chance against England recently, and we don't need to speak of our tour of the UAE.

I think we have a good chance of being rolled at least once, but I'm just not so sure it'll happen twice. Remember this is a lineup Zak Crawley scored 267 against.

Really hoping Duffy gets a go today.

my ideal lineup from the squad:

1. Guptill
2. Seifert
3. Conway
4. Philips
5. Chapman
6. Neesham
7. Santner
8. Bracewell
9. Sodhi
10. Duffy
11. Tickner

Meanwhile, Ravindra hasn't done his reputation any harm with a solid 70 out of a team score of 154-8.
