Pakistan's session, somewhat salvaged by CdG refusing to change his approach despite the conditions. The 6-41 has clearly earned Lord Colin the right to be aggressive.
To be honest, this is the way I wish Anderson would play more in these situations when he's in the side. I would also want Munro coming out and counter attacking at five when we put him in there because it advances the game and they're far more likely to make a contribution. We've got enough batting in this test with Santner that we might as well have someone going after it, especially when that gives them their highest chance of success.

The point is that it needs to be assertive and intelligent, not aggressive beyond intelligence.

Before I answer this, I'm relatively new here and you seem to have a reputation... I dont judge, but I want to know your thoughts on the Nathan Lyon non-dismissal from the Day Night test last year. Your thoughts will determine how I answer this question :P
Can't recall it to be honest. I watched the test but I don't really store that sort of menial crap in the knowledge bank.

Gloved/top-edged sweep, hot spot would have definitively proved Lyon smashed the **** out of it but it happened outside of the TV frame, so Llong says "it could have been anything that left that mark" and gives it not out.

I do maintain Llong got thrown under the bus somewhat tbh.

The one last night was actually worse in my view, where the ball was adjudicated by ball tracking to have pitched outside leg stump by a millimeter, which then over-turned the on-field decision

I think the brief for DRS needs to change to be honest, it's not about protecting the original decision on field, it's about ensuring the right decision is made based on all evidence available. That's the reason I ask where you'd put your money on that decision, because money talks, it's easy to say "He's hard done by" but the reality is, he hit it.

What sort of cricket fan are you if you cant recall mountain of "menial crap"? Haha. It's a similar situation so I'm just wanting to increase your sample size to see if your views are consistent.

That's obviously out and an obvious error by the umpire.

You can see the ball "jump" slightly the moment it goes past the bat, there is obvious deviation in the path of the ball.

One trend I do notice is that umpires trust snicko over everything else usually; I don't think that's the right way to go about things due to creaking bat handles, directional microphones not always picking things up if other background noise is present, etcetera.

I don't really care, I'm pointing out a cricket opinion on a cricket forum, in response to someone bringing the thing from yesterday back up again.

Why do you log into a cricket forum?
Sure it's fun to debate these things. At some point you let them go because everyone's position is entrenched, arguments are going in circles, and it's really boring.

The problem with your worldview is I'm not the one who brought it back up, the other problem you have is that you're constantly debating how others post, rather than being selective with what you bother to respond to. If I find posts of yours boring, I don't respond to them.

There is definitely something creaking in his handle.

He hasn't hit that, but he's going to be given out.

Watch the ball go past the bat, watch the rotation of the ball stay the same the whole way through, watch the fact that there is no deviation from the ball - he's trusted the snicko over every other piece of evidence there.

Yeah 16tins, you and your pesky constant posts about how people post. Every day I log in and it's just thread after thread with you in it.
