The cricinfo commentary there sums up my feelings nicely.Pedro Delgado said:Damned if he doesn't, damned if he does.
Which is odd, as I never had him as a traditional swing bowler. Which just goes to show something, anyway.Scaly piscine said:Mahmood sounds like a different bowler when there's a bit of swing.
He's on holiday in sunny Cuba, re-writing and updating his Revolution for Dummies handbook.Samuel_Vimes said:The cricinfo commentary there sums up my feelings nicely.
Oh, and where's V gone?
That's probably about right. Wouldn't be too surprised to see KP get a few overs sooner or later, possibly Bell too - these two might not be scoring particularly quickly, but if Pakistan have seven wickets in hand with 15 overs left then there could be carnage. We need a wicket soon.wpdavid said:We're looking pretty ordinary now that Lewis is out of the attack. Broad seems to have been somewhat overhyped, even if he is preferable to the nohopers we saw against SL. And 20 overs from Dalrymple, Yardy & Collingwood sounds like easy pickings to me. As someone said earlier, cue a Pak score of about 280 before Asif & co murder us under the lights.
Yeah, I forgot about Bell. Mind you, Strauss seems to have too. But if it does keep swinging, he may offer more than the spinners.Barney Rubble said:That's probably about right. Joyce doesn't bowl at all, does he? I can't recall him ever doing so.wpdavid said:Yeah, I forgot about Bell. Mind you, Strauss seems to have too. But if it does keep swinging, he may offer more than the spinners.
No idea. tbh I don't understand why he is playing ahead of Cook, who did very little wrong against SL. Does Joyce even open in onedayers for Middlesex?Barney Rubble said:Joyce doesn't bowl at all, does he? I can't recall him ever doing so.
For the most part, they're milking singles at will, and it won't be long before they open up a bit.PY said:I can definitely see them scoring 6.5-7 an over from here if these two stay in.
It's plain sailing for these two with 18,000 ODI runs between them against Yardy & Dalrymple. Try something different!
As I type though, Yardy rips one past Yousef's edge!
Firstly, he apparently has 9 first-class wickets and 2 List A wickets bowling right-arm medium, according to Cricinfo. Secondly, I'm pretty sure he bats four for Middlesex, behind Ed Smith, Ben Hutton and Owais Shah. Bugger on both counts.wpdavid said:No idea. tbh I don't understand why he is playing ahead of Cook, who did very little wrong against SL. Does Joyce even open in onedayers for Middlesex?
Yeah, you didn't really feel England are in control though did you?wpdavid said:For the most part, they're milking singles at will, and it won't be long before they open up a bit.
