Lewis finishes with one over left to bowl, complete and utter waste. Has to be one of the worst displays of on-field captaincy England have suffered for quite a while.

When you see Lewis' figures, you do have to wonder whether Strauss bottled it as it was his first game where England had any chance of winning.

Gonna have to agree with you there. Really poor. Drastically misused his bowlers.

Better effort from us, but Younis & Yousuf really won it for Pakistan despite the collective choke from the middle order.

Afridi was sawn off, but you could see why it was given at full speed. Quite an unusual decision from Doctrove as he's usually something of a batsman's friend.

Broad & Lewis (on this pitch at least) look up to it; Dalrymple did well enough for me to reserve judgement; Rikki & Saj to go, please. Yardy & Onions in?

Well the best one day performance from England since India. Looking good for the future...
That's the spirit. If all else fails, a completely groundless sense of optimism will see us there! :p

Strauss could have managed his bowlers a bit bitter but i'd say its been a very good performance today. Mahmood has a lot of potential but his bowling in ODI's has been horrific this summer, he should be dropped for either Tremlett of Chapple. Lewis even though people have complained about his lack of pace has done a good job.

Also get Clarke far away from the side, bloody waste..

Sorry, but...is there honestly any difference?
In Yardy based on what i've seen of him not so sure about Onions, i'd say bring in Tremlett or Chapple for Mahmood.

Yardy's SLA stuff has to be a better bet than Rikki's scattergun. Onions, well, change your seat & you might just change your luck.

Or something.

Well, it was better then what we've had recently, thats not saying a lot though.

I agree with your changes, but just fear Onions will be more cannon-fodder. We just can't keep calling up these chaps, on the "they can't be any worse" ticket. Unless we just enjoy being this inept at ODIs:sleep:

A good bowling performance from England. Dalrymple and Lewis were their best bowlers by far.

Umm, they're not in the squad. Even though I agree they might be better.

I still think Mascarenas has been the biggest omission throughout Fletchers reign, not even in the 30 for the Icc thingymigig.
