Not at all. It just means that it should be taken with a grain of salt when discussing the "best team", which was what was being discussed.

It certainly wasn't an unfair win or anything, but I also definitely wouldn't say it's indicative that SA were the "better team"

While this is true, it should come with a big asterisk. Australia pretty much dominated the first 2 tests which were drawn, one due to rain and SA won the third test relatively comfortably when literally all of Aus fast bowlers were injured from bowling 40 overs each trying to get out Faf . . .

Love how Hilfenhaus and Siddle are now considered better than those two just so that it can be argued that South Africa's win didn't really count. No asterisks of course over Australia's win in 2014 despite Steyn and Philander breaking down in the last test. That just makes sense.

Pakistan haven't been tested anywhere near enough away from home to be able to make that statement. Yes, it's a great achievement to draw in England, but let's wait to see how they do in Australia, NZ and South Africa.

Problem is that we don't play enough cricket to do that. We are playing NZ and Aus soon so it shouldn't be a problem but don't know when we are playing RSA. So when that series comes around, we might have a completely different team and as a result either lose or have our win but have our credibility doubted.

Except Starc was raw as **** at the time and Johnson wasn't the weapon he was circa 2013/14.

Also if Patto hadn't broken down early in Game 2 SA wouldn't have hung on in that game. That was what hurt us IMO.

How are the conditions in UAE that much different from Pakistan?

For starters UAE cities are deserts. Karachi is a port. Atmospheric conditions are different between UAE and Pakistan, which will have a big impact on how pitches are prepared and behave. Its not difficult to understand, surely?
