I doubt it will happen but a target of 110 on the final day with Yasir Shah bowling would be nervy, nervy times.Rain might well force the decision on following on more than the scoreline. With no weather I probably wouldn't enforce, but if we lose most of the third day they'll feel the pressure to move things along.
^^^^^^Credit to Masood for hanging on but he's not exactly going to push the game in Pakistan's direction. Matter of time before he gets a ball with his name on it.
Whilst I agree he's not as good a test batsman as the others, right after he scores a double ton maybe isn't the best time to make this pointWhy the **** is Kohli being talked about with Root/Smith/Williamson? He's no where near the same level as they are
Perhaps not, but his numerous overseas tons in a team renown for being poor overseas is credible. However, his record at home is underwhelming. Why the **** is Kohli being talked about with Root/Smith/Williamson? He's no where near the same level as they are.
- about the same ageWhy the **** is Kohli being talked about with Root/Smith/Williamson?
Cricket doesn't really get celebration of any kind. Period. And this is not restricted to players..but mostly fans and other stakeholders.I can see the headline that made stuff up about Cook after the previous test regarding Pakistan's celebration is developing into a solid myth on cricinfo.
The fact that everyone here saw through it except weldone shows you how credible it was.
Kohli is most definitely part of that conversation. Using their averages at this stage to make an assessment is futile because all 4 of them are still quite young in terms of games, if not age. The numbers are going to change a lot over the next few years. All 4 have different strengths and weaknesses and expect them to only minimise those problems in the future. They will most definitely remain part of the same conversation the way Ponting, Lara and Tendulkar were in the previous generation. Why the **** is Kohli being talked about with Root/Smith/Williamson? He's no where near the same level as they are.
Anyway Williamson is the best imo, he has the strongest technique, and has more pressure on him due to playing in the worse of the 3 teams, then Smith, because he converts much more successfully than Root, but Root has a higher ceiling and has to play in England.
Agreed, given that we have such a lack of quality batsmen and seeing as we need to find a 2nd spinner for the winter we can probably play him and Woakes and Bairstow as 5,6 and 7 with 2 spinners following that (presumably Moeen and Rashid) and the new ball pair to follow. Still a ridiculous batting depth and lots of options for bowling. Can manage the workload of Anderson and Broad too without flogging them to death.Stokes is a proper cricketer.
Between his batting, bowling, and fielding he's always in the game.
