Well done Crawley, been a very good knock. Hope he has nailed down the number 3 slot for a bit. Buttler quietly getting another score too is useful, has batted well lately.

@Burgey the thing about the kind of players I like is not if they are already the finished product. Its an intangible and obviously I am prone to be wrong trying to figure this from such a distance but I tend to back players whom I think can learn and adapt and I think I see that with Crawley and Naseem.

You are right, Crawley with this game will struggle in Australia but I fully expect the kid to figure out how to bat there and conquer those conditions.

EDIT: Its the same reason I was on the Labu and Kohli (and even Smith in 2013 when they toured India) trains before most others here.

Think you overrate Naseem just a bit. He's young and can improve but he's strictly serviceable at this stage. I've seen nothing become of more talented Pakistani youngsters.

But that is my point. I am not a fan of theirs for their talent, obviously the natural ability is there but they seem to have a bit more keenness and sharpness about them and suggests they will learn and adapt with time. Its the X factor I talk about mostly, an ability to recognize when your own abilities are not good enough for a challenge and improve upon them, even though that ability is considerable in itself.

That cover drive was timed to a different degree. Was never too far away either from the covers guy or the long off guy but still beat them easily to the boundary. Wow.

Like to see an occasional England pitch where the bowlers have to work for their wickets and 400 is a par score for a change. These two batting quite beautifully ATM.
