I'd argue we actually had worse than him in the early days, with blokes like Manjural Islam trundling in at 120kph with the new ball but it appears even he managed to be statistically better.

Taijul has been clinical. Ebadot on the other hand is completely innocuous. Gives the batsman so much time.

So,.as asked, I didn't watch the score at all last night, and turned out pretty well for Pak

Hadn't seen much of the debutant before (I guess not many people had) but he's got a solid technique.

Abu Jayed in his first spell looked decent with his outswingers. Bowled in the right areas and really just needed more pace. Ebadot had the pace but Sami like consistency. Too bad for bangbros because both openers looked ready and willing to chop on to their stumps.

Did anyone catch that missed review on Shafique? Such a weird dismissal and Taijul probably didn't want to be embarrassed if he was wrong, but I'd taken a review in a snap.

IIRC he first got a callup after one!

I think it was linked to a debut ton he scored in T20. Pakistan can do strange things with selection.

I thought batting first was wrong decision. They know this pitch very well but still made the mistake. The pitch here tends to get better and better by each day and becomes absolute road of roads on day 3/4 and even on day 5. Whatever little purchase we were gonna get it’d to be on day 1. However with this terrible bowling line up, I doubt that too. Batting Yasir Ali at 7 is a waste of space as he can’t bowl. I’d rather play a bowler there.
