Yep. Shafiq hit a hundred in SA and did ok in the series there iirc.

He struggled somewhat in South Africa in 2013 indeed, but that was just a bad spell in his career, which he admitted. He flopped in Zimbabwe and was poor when South Africa toured UAE in the return tour a side he had dominated in 2010.
Overall I think he has done very well in his career, he started in England against Australia and England, in a batting line up which was anything but settled at number 3 an incredibly difficult role. He didn't do that great against either, but not a total flop, his 90 against England was crucial when they beat England and a good century partnership with Butt was needed when they beat Australia. A lot of players with big reputations have done much worse in England than he has,, heck did you see Kohli last summer?
Since the 2013 struggle, he has been very good. He is not perfect, he does need to rotate strike better, something which hopefully ODI cricket will help with, but he is definitely one of the few success stories of the last few years for Pakistan.
From all accounts a very humble and hard working lad as well.

One innings of note is what even outstanding players manage against an attack like SA's. One big knock in SA against Steyn/Morkel/Philander is a successful series by anyone's standard.

It was also a series where they opened up with Hafeez for three tests and Jamshed for 2 and then replaced him with Farhat for the last,so Azhar was pretty much opening in that series. Do you remember the Steyn spell where he was in beast mode first test?

Bangladesh has really performed very well in this series and outperformed Pakistan in every department. But for test series now Misbah, Younis has come back this is really beneficial for them. Because in test series experience matters and Yonis Khan's Hundred in 2nd test is its example. We hope Pakistan will win at least last test and come back home without clean sweep. Pakistan in commanding position in 2nd test.

How injured is Shahadat? Was there any chance of him hobbling out on one leg and attempting to last balls with the bat then the ball (3 vs 2).
Its the second innings in a row where Shakib has remained not out with 100 for the taking. Those 2 non-tons make a big difference in his standing in the game IMO. 5 100's 16 50's looks so much better then 3 tons, 18 50's,
