*Official* Pakistan in Australia

Been really pleased with how Hussey has stood up here. Sure he's been dropped (how many times?), but he's pulling out massive innings when his spot and the match is on the line just like he did at The Oval. He has not wilted under what must be enormous pressure. If he manages a ton with the tail, and we by some miracle manage to bowl Pakistan out cheaply he deserves MoM for sure. WAG imo.

Yeah, I had a look at this season's SS stats and the only guys I'd have faith in are Hodge, Jaques, Rogers and Dussey

Unfortunately, one has retired because he's got the ****s with the selectors, 2 are openers that seem to have had their cards marked "never to play again" and the other really isnt guaranteed to be any improvement

Outside them and you have White (a maybe at 6), Klinger (1.5 great seasons on a road following years of mediocrity), Marsh (not a great record in fc), Bailey (up and down) and youngsters like Khurawhateverhisnameis that probably need more time

Given this, I can see why the selectors are willing Hughes to succeed as the cupboard is not exactly overflowing
Dont think Jaques has the "never to play again" tag around him. I expect to see him opening for AUS again sometime within the next 2 years TBF. D Hussey well i reckon they wont ever pick him indeed, his best shot at selection was the tour to SA last year - but they went for North.

Loving that Chappell story about Lillee in 72-73.

This is when I hate test cricket. Can understand both sides doing what they're doing, but it aint pretty by any means.

Don't get why they're passing up singles on the 4th ball when Siddle is already on strike. Still 2 balls left for you to get another run Huss...

Wouldn't mind Hussey showing some willingness to rotate the strike. Siddle looks very solid, and it would be a good idea to put the pressure back on the Pakistan captain. Could easily be 10-15 runs ahead if singles are taken already.

If Hussey remains on strike for the last two balls it also opens up opportunities for a boundary, a couple of those may make a big difference when you only lead by 86. Siddle is fairly competent in defence aswell, not a total bunny.

This.

He's been pretty good this summer tbh, particularly by comparison with a number of his team mates. His knock in the first dig here was just how you'd have imagined a Waugh or a Taylor approaching batting on that deck (save for his dismissal). So many of the others just batted as though the next ball had their name on it, so they slogged out

If he's going to dictate the strike, Hussey needs to do all he can to ensure Siddle doesn't face Kaneria, the biggest threat imo.

If only we got a little more of this out of Johnson and Hauritz. Siddle playing his role so well, so much focus on conserving his wicket.

I know Pakistani fans have had to put up with alot but my goodness, even if we got the lead to 150-200 you guys would be in the box seat. You're still well firmly planted there at this point.

The lead is 101, but judging by the reaction of so many people you'd think it was at least 300....
