**Official** Pakistan in Australia Thread

I wonder why the selectors are so anxious to get Lee in the side.

He's failed where it counts.

Champion's Trophy or Tugga's farewell Test anyone?

It seems tha you're insinuating that the complaint about the pitch conditions happened because we lost the test series in India!? I think you need to do a little re-check if that's the case.

Posts like yours are pathetic actually. How many people have we heard on here bleating about umpiring (no pun intended for the people from NZ :p ) when their team loses, yet apparently this is ok.
can't u remember the test series at darwin and cairns between SL and Aus. one of those matches ended in three days. did the australians report that to the ICC. No they didn't, because hey what the heck they won the match!

pathetic!

where was the Indian match? Probably THE MAIN GROUND at Mumbai. Where was the Aussie match???? Far out...

Id pick Lee over Kaspo to be honest... dont play 5 bowlers, thats just stupid. As is dropping Martyn. On that note, dont drop any of the current Aussie batsmen.

I would pick Lee as well, Kasper seems to be similar speeds to their current pacemen

He only bats well there. He should live in the sub continent and Australia can go pick him up on their way through. Barely ever performs in Australia. Plus he's a boring batsman to watch.

Now Michael Clarke... there's entertainment value... and a ****ing champion to go with it!!
It's people like this who have no idea about the game. Boring to watch? Just stick to the vulgarities of AFL or somesuch - you clearly can not appreciate subtle artistry.

Are they anxious to get him in though?

From over here it just looks like he's next in line, but not needed.

from what i can see it's merely a push by the southern media who have been beating it up ever since he was dropped/wasn't selected.

while i don't think lee should play, i think CA are acting disgracefully by not allowing him some match practice for NSW against tasmania this week. Surely Lee can't bowl to his peak if there is a sudden injury if he's only had 2-3 matches in several months...just like what happened to Bichel.

I can never see the point in playing five bowlers, as the fifth bowler only usually gets about six overs - max - per innings. Against Pakistan, the only danger for Australia is a batting collapse, against a withering assault from Akhtar or Sami. Therefore, it'd be more prudent to play the full complement of batsmen.

Exactly. That's why I'm surprised that there has even been a mention of dropping a batsman. Fingers crossed, hope it doesn't happen.

No need for that.

I just find him difficult to watch. I enjoy watching just about any other batsman in the country apart from Damien Martyn. As I said earlier it's a matter of opinions and no reason to get firey about.

No ones getting firey, theyre just defending a batsman who by no means deserves to be dropped.

Are the Australian selectors actually contemplating dropping Martyn ? That'd be silly. If anyone must go, it has to be Clarke making wau for Katich.

They aren't considering that.

If the Aussie selectors dropped anyone I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was D.S.Lehmann

Personally, I think this is all talk. I'd be pretty surprised if the Australians don't go in tomorrow with an unchanged team.

I'd be more wary of the Pakistanis than many of the media commentators picking a three-day thrashing are though. I also think there's maybe far too much focus on the Pakistan bowling, when their bats are actually very capable. I'm not sure I put that much stock in their disastrous performances in the tour games, although obviously they can be awful.

I noticed that Miandad is already taking potshots at Woolmer already. But I don't think he'll ever shut up. In fifty years, he'll be dissing Pakistan cricket from beyond the grave.
