***Official*** Pakistan in Australia 2023/24

You really think they're a candidate to make the next WTC final?
Don't think it's fair or, at least, representative to predict this Pakistan team's results overall on how they do on a surface like this against this attack. Most of the cricket they play will look nothing like this.

They're the only side Australia have beaten in an away Test series in the past 7 years.

Okay? Don't know what point you're trying to make here. They cleaned up SL in SL recently, something Australia wasn't able to do either. If they win consistently at home and take Tests off teams who play on slow home pitches like SL, WI and Bangladesh they'll have an outside chance at a WTC final. They don't even have to play India so they get a leg up there.

Well you can predict that they will continue to have poor selections, mismanaged players, gutless tactics and general all-round unprofessionalism. They had as easy a run based on home vs away split as you could have asked for in the last round and stuffed up royally.

I do have a little sympathy for Pakistan here because that tour game on that Canberra "pitch" was one step raised from "actually pointless" as far as prep for a Perth surface goes
Neither the schedule nor the surfaces have exactly been a secret for a while. It wouldn't anticipated that it would rain for a week killing all the grass, but that Manuka is a slow venue is hardly a secret. They had an interval they could've organised another tour match here rather than training camps there, though frankly I'm not the PCB could afford it. And then picking Faheem Ashraf was something they also could have avoided.

Also, ironic they complained about the slowness of the Manuka pitch and the match is being played at Junction Oval. At least Pakistan can be assured the remaining two test pitches will be on the slow side.
