I sometimes go overboard suggesting that all cricket in Australia post 2001 should be stricken from the record because of the disgusting roads, but even I don't think this was a road.
Easy to score quickly on but also not that hard to take wickets on. I really rate the surface so far tbh.

Yeah this is a good cricket pitch and if Pakistan had bowled properly in the first session and held their catches they might well be batting already. It's not a 400+ surface at all imo. Every batsman looked consistently uncomfortable as soon as they strung together a few half decent overs in a row.

Don’t really agree that Pakistan has done better than expected. Scorecard on the surface level isn’t disastrous but tbh it’s a pitch with a decent bit of help in it for the bowlers and Australia barely looked like they were trying. They’re behind by a fair bit.

I was surprised that Warner was selected for this series as it would have been an ideal opportunity to blood someone else.
At home, Warner has an outstanding record but with Khawaja also being in the latter stages of his career, its clear the Aussies are going to have find 2 new openers in the next year or 2.
The cupboard is obviously a bit bare so a nice little home series against Pakistan would be ideal for the next generation of players to be given a go.
