so you mean in a calendar year? or as in ever?

edit: **** I didn't realise the guy had played 50 tests. Assumed since I've never heard of him that he must be new.

Bird did well in the 2nd innings, but I'm not convinced from what (little) I've seen of his bowling. Seems like he'd be a good fit for the Indian Wheel (TM). :D

Feel pak are wasting shafiq at 6, he can contribute more I feel, at least come ahead of grandpa misbah ffs
Pak tried him at No.3 and it didn't work out,I guess he has had some problem facing new ball nevertheless looks fine against the new ball in this test

He has got some serious ability to bat with the tail so its better to leave him their

Was in the office speaking with someone from Australia, made me think of the cricket, checked score on the phone, only 40 odd to get with 2 wickets in hand. Went to my office, put the stream on and Asad Shafiq gets a snorter 1st ball. Blame me.

so any changes to the Pak team needed?
Sarcasm much? Anyway none after that magnificent effort. Glad Australia won but I was envious of the fight Pakistan displayed. Quite the contrast compared to the way we caved against the Saffers. I was at the gabba on the 1st day. Wahab looked slippery most of the day. Amir swung the ball at good speed. Renshaw and Handscomb give Australia's supporters some hope for our batting.

nah Bird's good. I'm guessing that's the way Rod Marsh thought though. Funny to think that two blokes like Philander and Abbott, who bowl around Bird's pace, probably would have been squeezed out of the African side if Marsh had a say in selection.

Has a test average better than any other Indian quick currently playing.:) Don't think he is the bowler he was when he debuted but not a bad third quick to have in your side, and I only noticed recently how much he looks like Carl Froch.

In these kinds of huge run chases, teams batting last have nothing to lose..., so they tend to go out there & bat with freedom.. but as soon as they get close & there's reasonable chance of pulling it off, it tends to affect them & their approach somehow and they end up collapsing or falling short of the mark.
Basically it's the "hope" that gets you!

If Pakistan got real close Today, the same will probably happen again- the pressure/the hope will probably be too much. At least thats what the long history of Test cricket suggests.
Yeah I've seen exactly this happen so many times.
Same old. It's all too predictable hmmm
