Jayawardene shoved down the order doesn't make sense at all to me.
Yeah if anything he should bat a bit higher up in ODIs than he does in Tests IMO. He's a genuine strokeplayer which makes him more suited to the new ball and the fielding restrictions. Good player of spin, but it seems a waste to have him milk bowlers around the middle overs.

Ideally, he'll be milking the spinners around anyway, having already made 40 or so from the first 15 overs. ;)

They have Sangakkara, Chandimal and Mathews so it's not like he's desperately needed to bolster the middle order, and Tharanga is hardly commanding a spot in the top order.

(Though I don't think Tharanga's ****, as is often the accusation)

I just can't believe Fernando is back again. I promised myself I'd boycott any matches he played from now on by not watching them, but I might have to break that rule as I'm terribly bored.

Encouraging. What's his reputation like, as a keeper/batsman or a batsman who keeps?
His batting is known as being better than his keeping, but he's a proper keeper. He looked absolutely terrible with the bat in his previous international stint but he's scored billions of runs domestically in the last few seasons.

Had to argue against him then, best of luck to the bloke.

MJ in for Tharanga now. Probably should have been done at the toss, rather than at 68/3. Lankans struggling a bit.

I think this will be a fairly big loss for SL unless someone does something spectacular and unexpected. That probably wont happen so TV is off for me and I'm getting ready to out for dinner with the family and later out for a party in the town.
