I can't believe I ate the whole thing
You watching league? Now I've seen everything.
Since moving back home with my parents this year it's been hard to avoid Rugby League but tbf it hasn't been bad at all. Been watching games here and there, good fun.

Well done Saints.

Roosters didn't look that devo to be honest.

Not to be a nark, but she was a pretty ****house final series.

Not that you're guaranteed a great final series every year, I guess.

Eh I didn't think it was that bad. Some great games, some not so great games. We had a "fairytale", a choke or two, some upsets. Underrated for mine.

Booooo footy's over :(

League tragics will have to nourish themselves on the Four Nations - provides sustainance until the end of November.

Spare a thought for us AFL tragics - she's cold turkey until the NAB Cup in late Feb.

Yep, farcical that Lawrence got in.

Least they didn't select Beau Scott, who I think was also in the train-on squad.

Lawrence is almost acceptable given the ridiculous amount of injured/leaving centres. I just hope he doesn't get picked over Tate or Tonga for the final seventeen.

Young is the token "above average NRL player who is nowhere near Test standard but played well in a winning team in the grand final" pick. Usually there are two or three of those though, so I suppose I should be happy it's just the one. His representative prospects have always been vastly over-stated though - Matt Hilder for example is a better player in the exact same mould and everyone knows he's not a Test player. Never really got the fascination with Young.

I am so Happy for Dean Young, one the moset underrated, but valuable players in the comp.

John Muggleton, 1982 Kangaroo Tour being the best example.

Good bloke though, is Muggo.

Finals Week 4

morgieb 4
Brumby 4
Ausage 4
Hirricane 4
Mister Wright 4
Burgey 0
Craig 0
Ripper 0

Burgey goes all or nothing as the only person to tip the Roosters. It paid off until about 45 minutes after which it looked like a baaaad idea.

Overall

morgieb 13.4
Brumby 12.3
Burgey 9.3
Ausage 9.2
Hirricane 9.2
Ripper 8.2
Mister Wright 6
Craig 4

Morgieb locks up first spot being the only tipster to top the round all 4 weeks. Brumby ends up an intercept try the wrong side of first place.

Congrats to morgieb, and thanks to all for playing :)

Yeah fully agree with that - they've signed up Taumata for next year who's a player I've always been greatly sceptical of but, if he is going to make a fist of first grade, it'll be in the role you're speaking of.
Missed this earlier. You say your skeptical about Taumata, is that because of his off field issues or his on field issues?

I have to confess I haven't seen alot of him before this year, and even then we're only talking a few games with the Cows. Looked the goods though. Fast, strong for his size, good step and vision. Looked like he had the talent to do a Carney tbh. How he goes at the Fiddler at 3am on a Sat morning is another issue, but he wasn't released from the Cows for disciplinary reasons.

We also picked up Nafe Seluini, one of the best players from the Warriors TC winning side. Supposedly a gamebreaker who can play anywhere in the backline or hooker, though again I haven't had the chance to see alot of him.
