Im once again at a loss with these selections...

How can they not consider, Michael Jennings, Josh Morris, and Chris Lawrence amongst the top 5 centres NSW have...

Lyon is out injured and would have no doubt been there, Then we have Tahu, Cooper, Idris and now bring in Beau Scott...

Seriously why do we even bother sometimes, we might as well hand the series to queensland and save the chance for any injuries...

I can understand the NRLs adoption of the current judicial system - i.e. it gives some certainty if you're charged for certain offences, and some certainty as to the discount if you plead guilty, and some certainty as to the consideration of prior offences. It's premised on the pillars of transparency and consistency and being seen to be so. However, I think with sentencing, the best system is to not have rigidity. Keep sentencing rules flexible and put faith in the adjudicators to exercise their judgement and discretion in relation to the case at hand. That gives you your best chance of just outcomes.

Don't have compulsory loading, and compulsory suspension if points have been accrued. Keep it flexible.

Glad QLD have selected Folau, the most important thing at the moment is winning this series, if we win game 2, I don't mind if we look to the future and select someone like Yow Yeh who is obviously in the selectors minds being named 18th man today.

Agreed

Putting two separate incidents together (neither of which of themselves warranted a suspension) to equal a suspendable offence, is ridiculous.

It's like being caught twice doing 59km in a 60km zone, and being hit for a speeding offence.
Nothing like that tbh. If you're before the judiciary and have carry-over points (and combined they total more than what is required to suspend you) you've obviously committed an offense at least twice. If you're doing 59 in a 60 zone, you aren't breaking the law, and never will be.

Don't see what's so wrong about the carry-over points, it catches repeat offenders. Who cares if 1 incident on it's own isn't worthy of suspension, but if you keep on doing it...tough luck

I don't Jennings should be picked and I'm not just wanting him to stay healthy. He's lost a few yards of pace with his knee injury recently. Morris and to a slightly lesser extent Lawrence should feel hard done by though.

Not surprised though, especially considering Thurston got away with his outburst the weekend before.

Hayne has been cleared.

Free to headbutt Slater again in Origin. Brilliant.

I love those human movement experts that they bring in to testify.

Probably said that Hayne has a nervous twitch which spasmodically jolts the head forth.

NSW's side.....

Jarryd Hayne
Brett Morris
Beau Scott
Matt Cooper
Timana Tahu
Trent Barrett (vice-capt)
Mitchell Pearce
Michael Weyman
Michael Ennis
Brett White
Ben Creagh
Trent Waterhouse
Paul Gallen.

Interchange:
Kurt Gidley (capt)
Nathan Hindmarsh
Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
Luke O’Donnell

Now Hindmarsh should be starting over Waterhouse, but it's the best side we've named for quite a while, imo.

Aside from the fact that it's the 33rd different halves pairing tried in the past 10 matches.

Only one prop on the bench for NSW could be a worry for them. But, they desperately needed Hindmarsh back in the squad.

Exact same thing I thought. Not looking forward to another backrow having to play large parts of the game in the frontrow. We never learn always go over the top on the backrows and change the halves once someone has a below par game.
