**Official** NRL 2010 thread

Love looking at the results on the Saturday morning, and seeing that you've got two games up.

Such a rarity for me.

Broncos and Manly need to be on high alert for the upset this weekend - heard it here first.

Sounds like a fantastic atmosphere between the Dogs and Storm at the new stadium in Melbourne. Good to see RL in Melbourne is not dead.

Harsh on Idris but I just don't see him playing a valuable role when you push Lyon into the centes and have Lewis in the team as well. I'm open to a different suggestion for wing and five-eighth.

My tipsters spidey sense was tingling with the Panthers/Rabbits game. Couldn't bring myself to tip against my team when we were 7-3.

Look like a bunch of jokers out there. Word is we're looking at losing Micky Gordon next year too

But trying to sign Inglis instead. ITSTL. So far we can take that Tolman is the replacement for Hannant (personally think he should HTFU, he knew what he was getting into when went to Sydney again to chase the $$$$), but was he really on 250k a year at Melbourne, wow that is some massive overs if that is the case.

Who is the favourite to replace Ricky Stuart next year?

The assistant coach has already been named as his replacement.

Would rather lose Pritchard if we want Inglis that badly. If we're going to gain an enigmatic sometimes matchwinning but frequently lazy player I'd rather we lose one to compensate rather than losing one of our most consistent outside backs. You don't win premierships by being a team able to "beat anyone on their day".

Hey blewy what do you reckon about McKinnon joining the Tigers for the rest of the year?

He really looks past it to me, but I guess you never know what a change of scenery can do. Didn't think Beau Ryan was doing too badly for your blokes on what I'd seen either.
Mate im undecided at this point... If the bloke can perform to the level he was before his injury then we have got ourselves a great buy... But i guess we won't see that until he plays a few games...

He has the ability to be a perfect fullback for us... The way he roves behind the play and picks up balls off the hip of forwards etc, i can see Marshall and Farah putting him through a ton of holes..

I just hope he left his mouth back across the ditch... He can certainly be an ass towards the officials..

As for Beau... The bloke has impressed me.. Last season on the wing i was calling for his head as everytime he got the ball he crabbed across field making zero metres, but at fullback he has been very very good.. That was until last week when Uncle Tim decided to put the great Daniel ****zhenry at fullback (this bloke scares me everytime he touches the ball) and shifted Ryan back to the wing, where he hasnt been as dynamic in his running...

Nah you were a very good team that year. Finished one win off the minor premiers iirc.

Just seems to me that there's something wrong with this backline. Spot the odd one out.

2 Tighe
3 Jennings
4 Inglis
5 Simmons

Yeah we were very under-rated that year, not a team of superstars but a superstar team... A real bit of proof that if the team plays for each other then they can achieve most things...

How confident are you of getting GI?? I personally cant see him leaving the Storm, but if you did it would be a MASSIVE signing for you...

Not hugely tbh, mainly because I can't see him wanting to live in Penrith. GI looks like the type that would like the glamour. Reckon we could offer him something competetive money wise though (at least by NRL terms). We have several players we could afford to lose off contract (Blair, Paulo, Cooper, Tighe) as well as a few probable retirements (Puletua, Elford). If we lost Pritchard or Gordon too (off contract) you'd think we'd have enough money, but it's hard to say. Perhaps the Petero factor could help us?

What really worries me is that we shaft someone like Gordon out of the club trying to woo GI, then GI shafts us because the Nepean makes the hull of his yacht all grimy. At least if we lose Pritchard in that scenario we only lose a player that's odds on to never reach his potential.

Yeah, Stuart Flanagan's the new coach.

Do you think anyone else will leave their clubs? Henjak & Sheens might have nervous moments over Stuart's place next year, and I wouldn't be over-confident about next year if I was Cleary....
