And how come Greg Inglis has special dispensation to play for Queensland despite playing his first game for Bowraville (as he says during the team line-ups)?

Confusion over whether the Arrive Alive Cup classifies as a senior match as it is effectively a junior competition. Also he played in Queensland in senior competition after he was 15 as well.

Something along those line I believe.

What night do you reckon is ideal for Origin? For mine, I like a Wednesday night. All the watercooler chat at work on the Wednesday, and the post mortem on the Thursday - plus it breaks up the week nicely. On the downside, there's the prospect of feeling a little dusty on the Thursday.

From a player's perspective, I think Sunday night would be good. Ideally, you could have it as a standalone match that weekend, and let the lads have the Monday-Friday to recover before the next club round. I think Origin is big and great enough to standalone on a weekend.

Has to stay as it is now. There has to be NRL matches on the weekend for television. It's not perfect but it works best how it is.

In perefect world a standalone game would be best, just have 3 General byes for all clubs. though it does mean the guys playing origin don't get any break at all. But as Simon said, Tv rights etc

You would - Queensland has been poaching New South Wales born kids for over two decades, on the pretence they once visited Surfers for a Christmas holiday aged eight, thus rendering them "originally" from the deep North.

Queensland - so good even players born in NSW want to play for them

And your entitiled to, but if it were my way, you'd play for the state where you were born and tough **** if your born outside Queensland or New South Wales. I think you make it simple, cut and dried and there ya go. Don't like the rules, go cry to your local administrator..

What senior competition did he play in? He was born & bred in NSW, and he plays for the Storm.
Did he even live in Queensland?

He played for Norths Devils in the Queensland cup.

But then they want Inglis who not only doesnt wan't to play for the Blues but was/is desperate to play for the opposition. I dont get it.

Because the sports mob is a fickle bunch.
