You've waited 4 years....yet he's still not even 21. I'd be prepared to give a front-row forward another couple seasons simply based on the fact that despite his size, he's still quite young. The Broncos have just let go of their best young Forward last year (imo) in Hannant. To lose Taylor as well the following year would be a huge blow for the future of the team, especially when by all reports the team has paid exorbitant amounts for a bloke they're now playing on the wing. No, Brisbane may not have been able to offer as much coin as Souths, but the team would have had a bit more cap room to work with.
Particularly when the Broncos only real weakness is in their forwards. Still can't believe they didn't want Petero. They'd be such a gun(er) team if they'd kept him.

Anyways just got back from the Panthers game. Really wasn't that impressed with us tonight. Sharks were absolutely dire. No one with a good open play kicking game (where was Seymour?), and pathetic 5th play options, but we kept letting them back into the game. Should have had 20 on them. Our edge defense just wasn't good enough (tbf our right side consists of a back rower out of position, and a rookie). Haven't seen a replay of the Petero sin binning, but from the grandstand it looked like an absolute joke of a call.

Having said all that Luke Walsh was magic for that second try. Prichard's try was pure hilarity, sold a dummy to the fullback like he was a 5,7 halfback, what a gun. And of course 2 points is 2 points.

Still a couple of years from a prem though.

Also late call but loved Gordon's try for the Titans last night. That's what league is all about. More of that guys, less *** scandals please.

Re: Hunt, yes he still might sign with the Broncos, but it seems pretty clear to me that he wants more $$$ than what they're offering him. If they hadn't signed Folau, I'd say it's likely they would have given it to him. Instead, by signing Folau, they've potentially stuffed up the chance to retain one of the best fullbacks in the game. In terms of importance to the team, Fullbacks >>>> Wingers anyday of the week. It's madness, and a huge mistake if Hunt goes afaic.
It's not just the money that's motivating him IIRC. There's also the fact that he doesn't want to be in a fishbowl existence. The money that Brisbane's offered him isn't small.

It isn't small, but he wanted more, which is the point. Whether or not it would have (or might still) entice him to stay at Brisbane or not, the fact is that the signing of Folau has greatly reduced the chances of them retaining Hunt.

I'm fairly confident Hunt will stay. If he was going to leave he would have signed already. Origin is major factor imo, and the fact he's only 2 years away from being our highest paid player and with age on his side he has lots and lots of money to make from league.

Anyway, even if he goes we've got the best fullback in the country to take over in Hodges, which will mean Falau goes to the centres.

Hodges is too slow to play fullback now. Folau will stay on the wing until either Hodges retires or one of them is willing to play on the other side of the field.

Cowboys end up winning easy.

Totally glad I tipped them. Me and Pinchy were the only ones to.

Myles can gagf. Crocker to start with Stagg on the bench. Shillington in there ahead of Costigan.
