Why not have Origin on a Saturday night, make it a bye weekend, have a full round the next week, have Origin the following weekend, full round the weekend after, and then the last Origin bye weekend?

Players will go into camp after each NRL round, but get released for club duty. Missing club training wouldn't be a biggie since they are still training anyway at the Origin camp.

It'd probably have to be a Friday night, for ratings and stuff for TV. Less people watch TV in general on Saturdays.

For various reasons I cant see a stand alone Origin weekend working.
- It extends the season by three weeks
- Pay TV wont accept having no matches three weekends during a season
- If teams still have two byes during the season thats five weekends where players wont play
- Fans wont accept seeing only and Origin game on a weekend

Theres more but they are the main reasons.

How much can be told from the 1st set of six in a game? Qld's defence was cod-ordinary - almost like they were lethargic.

I just hope NSW keep on going in the same vein. Good to see Slater getting belted each time he runs it up, and Harmichael is tackling well...

Great defence by NSW, and I think you need to slip Prince in as a suppository. Hunt tackled like a demon, but I don't remember him being a great help in attack.

How funny was the bit near the end where Rabs Warren was talking up Dallas Johnson and how tough he was and before he could finish the sentence Johnson had been knocked senseless tackling Mason.

It was Stirlo talking him up wasn't it? It was funny to an extent, but I've got the utmost respect for the guy. 95kg and still tackles pretty much anyone. Legend.
