IMO if Stewart is out of Origin then Gidley would play fullback and NSW would pick a proper halfback.

Hmm - Finch, Carney or Pearce to half back then. At least they'd have two kickers in general play.
Fulton and the other selectors also have a real thing for Lyon, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the centre spot ahead of Cooper. Hindmarsh won'y make it either, unless there's an injury.
I think they'll run with this pack (assuming Bird to 5/8):
Gallen, Laffranchi, Hoffman, Mason, Buderus, Kite.
Kite's no good - biggest myth since Ryles. Mason's at his best in the 2nd row, Cryin Ryan tries hard but sheds a tear in a loss, Gallen's a thug and will get penalised out of it, Laffranchi should be there and Buderus picks himself.
Qld easily, even if Lockyer is out.

Doesn't deserve to happen. Scott Prince is in the form of his life and so is Laffranchi.Not happening - Bird to 5/8 and Crocker comes into the side, despite Laffranchi being 18th man to start with

Matt Petersen has left the Titans and joined Wakefield as of now after the game against Newcastle. His contract was up and they have released him to join Wakefield now. I'm not sure of the kind of money that was offered, but it for some reason it wasn't on the BBC website or Wakefield's.

Anasta doesn't really have the greatest kicking game himself at SOO level. No doubt it is better and a fair bit better then Bird. But whoever you play at 5/8 either Anasta or Bird, you need a halfback with a really good kicking game to keep you in the game. Thats one of main reason why I wouldn't pick Gildey at halfback.
For NSW sake I hope Stewart injured or they get over their theory of picking specialist wingers. Stewart or Hodgson are by far the best wing options NSW have. Guess who favorite to play on wing for Queensland Billy Slater and last time I checked he plays his club football at fullback too.
Also I do question who are these backrowers that have to picked that means you can't play both Anasta and Bird. Gallen, Hoffman, Laffranchi and Tupou and who else. Don't tell me you have to play Hindmarsh and Ryan. Or is it some rookie like Heighington.

3. Should clubs sacrifice their home-ground advantage by playing at ANZ Stadium? - No
4. What is the biggest issue in the game? - The video ref having too much control
5. Does referring strips ruin the momentum of the game? - Yes
6. Do they get it right? - Mostly
7. Which is the toughest ground to play at? - Canberra Stadium (they are rubbish away and almost unbeatable at home, must mean something)[/
