Never nice to see someone miss a Grand Final, but really the Storm have had this coming to them for quite some time.

They don't train for it, of course...

Are you saying that as a Broncos fan or as a neutral?
I'm saying it as a fact, regardless of who I support the vision was clear he was infront of the kicker. Pretty sure the commentators have said that and I don't think I've really heard anyone disagree with the decision before you.

He was in front but as Craig said, it came down to centimetres. It's a pity because it would have been a brilliant try. I'm just glad Melbourne got up in the end.

Technically Inglis wasn't within the ten metres when Geyer tapped the ball back from over the dead ball line. Therefore, no longer offside and try.

According to Mark Geyer and John Sattler in the paper today they were both quoted saying 'it is a joke that Cameron Smith has been cited for his 'grapple tackle' and the game is going soft' and 'if should get rid of the points system, if a bloke keeps getting into trouble then keep giving him more and more time on the sidelines'. They also said that to stop grapple tackles, the best way is to keep penalising teams, if a team is giving away 10 penalties a game because of it, then any coach worth his salt will stop his team from using that technique.

They are right about one thing, I have never understood that points system.

Actually the judiciary system is probably the best its ever been, under the old way there would be people whinging every single week about suspensions and the length of them etc... these days it barely rates a mention.

As for the grapple tackles, they should just penalise the crap out of teams for it. Everyone knows it's hard to stop teams from scoring when they get back to back to back sets, when coaches realise the way they are coaching is costing the team games then we will see less of this wrestling.

SBW Homesick

Can honestly say it would leave a bitter taste if this guy was ever allowed to return to the NRL. Granted, everyone makes mistakes, but it was just the way he left and moreover that ridiculous interview he gave on the Footy Show over in France where he basically rubbed people's noses in it. I think he's a nasty, selfish, babyish piece of work.

Absolutely no way he should be allowed back here. He made his decision let him put up with it.

.
But I did hear it in the news.
Granted, he was a dog, but I would welcome him back. Mind you, wouldn't this be the chance to chase his "dream" to play for the All Blacks 8-)

It's wide open IMO. SHarks are a massive chance now with Smith out. So much of Melbourne's good stuff starts with him.

They can't be serious about Slater at dummy half, surely?

Right now I'm pretty much thinking ABM ("Anyone but Manly"). Fair dinkum, worst moment in my sports spectating life was the Olympic Stadium opening matches in about 98 or 99, and Terry ****ing Hill scored the first ever try there. God I hate that club.

Dire.

On the grapple. What about a 5 minute sin bin for any player who does a grapple/ makes contact with the head of an opponent in a tackle? Reckon it would stop it quickly.

They need to get serious with this ****. It's dragging the game down so far it isn't funny. That and when a bloke gets tackled, and the 14 fellas on top of him lay there and turn around to look at the ref. Penalise the ****s FFS!!!!! If they've got time to turn around and look at the ref, they've got time to get off the poor bastard on the ground!!!!

melbourne - they cheat
