Can't say I've ever met a neutral (ie someone who doesn't actually hail from NSW or QLD) who has supported the Blues. I can generally understand it, given that most people back the underdog when they have no real commitment to either side, but in recent times it's been hard to call QLD the underdogs.Sometimes I wish I actually was one, not just a supporter.
My friends all support NSW, always braged about it too when they won (for the whole year), haven't heard a word about SoO from them in the last three years now. Can't say I've ever met a neutral (ie someone who doesn't actually hail from NSW or QLD) who has supported the Blues. Yeah no doubt it makes a difference and if you look back at the wingers we selected to play against Tuquri. There was a reason why we picked guys like Moody, De Vere, Lewis and Rooney. Purely just to combat the height of Tuquri. I wouldn't be surprised if NSW don't start going down the same policy, but I hope they go for Lawrance not Rooney (who will probably be in England next season anyway). The second try wouldn't have been stopped by Darren Glass, let alone Luke Rooney. My point is about the first try. Quinn didn't drop that ball for just any old reason; watch the footage again. He dropped it because he wasn't focussed on the ball and was worrying about Folau running at him whilst stationary. He knew he couldn't compete.
Whilst I know Rooney has in flaws and sometimes punches under his weight, his height is just a fact of life and if there's anyone around to jump at Folau in attack and defense on the wing, it should be him. Or even perhaps Monaghan.
Reckon we can let it slide.PS. It wasn't my intention to avoid the filter. It just kind of happened that way.
Yeah I still don't think the ball went forward. Very harsh call considering the situation of that game. I thought there were two or three Blues forward passes that weren't picked up but I don't think that balances it out because the one they did call was at such an important momentNah it wasn't. I paused it with the recorder (parents got one today, (face)) on both where it left the hands and where it hit his chest, at best was maybe half a foot forward, but that's nothing in the modern game and a horrible time to call a forward pass on a ball that's as forward as 50% of the passes per round.
Awta. Awta. Awta.Anthony Quinn: wtf? Hopefully he'll never wear the blue jumper again, especially with the mental edge Folau gained on him tonight. Gonna start a "Luke Rooney for Origin regardless of his form." campaign, maybs someone will jump on board.
Paul Gallen: you're a ****ing douche. What the **** was with all these ridiculous penalties? If he didn't have arms the size of my torso and a temper lower than Mike Tyson I'd track him down and throw rocks at him from afar
Mitchell Pearce: I thought he looked calm and collected, and I think he certainly has a future in the blue #7. I don't think Anasta being out of the loop in the first half helped him. He defended well and kicked well from his own half, though his attacking kicking left a bit to be desired. Anasta does most of that for the Roosters anyway.
don't think anyone in the game could out leap FolauOut of interest, a contest for a bomb between Israel Folau and Christian Inu when both have a running shot at the ball would be a sight to behold.
Haha was gonna say exactly the same thing.Krisnan TBH.

Look, I'm still in a funk after last night.Haha was gonna say exactly the same thing.
Very true. I was only thinking last night what a Johns, Daley, Sterling or Kenny might have done with the space the NSW forwards got. Not that they were utterly dominant, just that the halves can't say their forwards were bashed up. They had at least parity onthis occasion. It's funny how the trophy tends to follow the team with the better halves. Since JT has come on the scene, Qld have been dominant - along with Lockyer at pivot. By contrast, while Lockyer was at fullback and we didn't really have a banker at halfback, we struggled to jag a Series victory. Even going back earlier, NSW has Johns, Daley, Fittler and Co, while we never really had a settled pivot or, before 1999, a great halfback like Langer.
