Stosic? However you spell it. Admittedly Cronulla losing ten on the skid won't have helped his chances.
Douglas is a better chance from Sharks, Hayne will win though...

Considering the Raiders were tipped for the wooden spoon by many people and now they are in the 8, I think Elliott deserves it, but then Bellamy should probably get it, after losing Chan, Kearns, Bell, Orford, and a few others along the way at the end of last season, and now they have finished at least 8 points clear.

Greg Inglis is unlucky not to make it. He could get in ahead of Hayne on the wing in the TOTY.

Inglis didnt really play enough games in one position to get in. He really only played 8 games at fullback which isnt enough to get the spot off schif and only 7 in the centres which Hodges and Gasnier are certainties...

Bellamy for coach of the year. Most of the pundits weren't even backing them for the top eight at the beginning of the season. Also, tipping Canberra for the GF made me laugh. Sure they're a chance, but actually tipping it is ludicrous.

Week 1 finals

Friday Night:
Newcastle v Manly

Saturday Night - Game 1:
Brisbane v St George Ilawarra

Saturday Night - Game 2:
Bulldogs v Canberra

Sunday Afternoon:
Melbourne v Parramatta

If there is going to be any teams that will upset the applecart IMO it will be Canberra (have a good record against the 'Dogs) and Manly, especially Ben Kennedy should be back. I think Brisbane will be too strong for the Dragons at Suncorp, but having said that Brisbane have lost their last two finals at Suncorp, but with recent form (how Wayne Bennett has played us for chumps?) I think they will be too strong. While for Parramatta, I think they would have buckley's at Olympic Park, regardless of how many front rowers they have coming back.

Home wins all round for mine. Manly are a chance, but yer Novocastrians will have Joey back so think they'll be good enough.

i had a good tipping round this week, my 4th perfect round of the season, cant say ive done that before...

finals tips
Friday Night:
Newcastle v Manly
Manly will win because they are a better team. Johns wont be enough and neither will the home crowd, if Kennedy is back he will inspire Manly home and Orford will begin to prove his critics wrong.

Saturday Night - Game 1:
Brisbane v St George Ilawarra
Broncos will win. Honestly how awesome is our defence. We've conceeded 5 tries in the last 4 weeks and are physically hurting teams we are hitting them that hard. Hodges will dominate wherever he is playing.

Saturday Night - Game 2:
Bulldogs v Canberra
Canberra in an upset. Raiders will play the under dogs tag well and will get up on the back of their simple game plan. They have been playing finals type football all year and they will be ready for it, Dogs on the other hand have been coasting for a month and will fall apart in this match. And remember 2nd has only beaten 7th twice out of 6 (or something like that) since the McInytre system was introduced.

Sunday Afternoon:
Melbourne v Parramatta
Melbourne in a no contest. Eels are shot to bits and i dont see them causing a problem.

I got six. Bloody Cows getting up...

Before this week I was up to 155th on the NRL site tipping thingy out of 50-odd thousand. Pretty chuffed with that. :)

I can not wait to go to that St George game next Saturday, against Brisbane.

Should be sensational.

If Petro isn't the best forward in the game at the moment something is wrong.

How brilliant is Hodges? He had no right to score that 2nd try of his today. Great player.

Hodges is awesome, if hes not in the test side Ricky Stuart should quit.

Cooper > Hodges

And the Dragons will tear the Broncos apart. Dragons to win by 13+ looking a good bet.

Cooper is nothing, Hodges and Gasnier are easily in a class above as centres. Cooper will be lucky to make the tri nations squad based on this seasons form...

Dragons would want to improve on their recent form if they want to be within 30 of brisbane next week...

That's crazy talk. Cooper has nothing on Hodges. Hodges is quickly developing into the most dangerous back in the game. He has finally found a home at fullback. I hope he stays there on a regular basis, but I doubt this will happen, as there is a lot of support for Hunt at fullback. I rate Cooper, but nowhere near close to the ability and class of Hodges.

Simon, do you even watch anybody other than the Broncos and the Raiders? In all seriousness, you are amazingly biased and unknowledgable for someone who considers himself such a huge "rugby league fan".

Cooper has been in fairly good form the second half of this season and I think has proven himself to be more of a class player than Hodges over a longer period of time.

By the way, the Dragons by 13+ prediction wasn't serious. The Cooper comment was though.
