 Broncos are imploding aws, they get calls from the Bucs asking if they will take part in a three way trade

Broncos give: Round 1 Draft pick. (#12) to Patriots, Jay Cutler to Bucs.
Broncos Recieve: Matt Cassel from Pats. (Maybe a pick from the Bucs)

This all went down the drain as the Chief offered this:

Chief give: Round 2 pick (#34).
Chiefs Recieve: Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel (sp).

 From the Pats p.o.v.

And now the talks of the first trade were leaked, Cutler had no idea the Bronco's were even thinking about a trade and is very pissed, he still thinks the Bronco's are shopping him around. People already calling for McDaniel's head.

And to top it all off, Brandon Marshall has been arrested again.

Broncos of '09 = Raiders '04-08.

Draft only three days away and Sky is going to show it (about bloody time) live. Anyone else going to watch the first round(s)? Who do you want your team to pick?

Also loving the Chargers idea, two people from the FO are going to be streaming a live video where they discuss all the picks and who the Chargers are most likely to pick then when it comes time for the Chargers they will reveal who is going to be picked before it's announced. Gun

For me I'd like to see the Chargers trade down for a later first and get a second but will be happy so long as they pick defence, ILB/DE and DT are the biggest needs so a Rey Malauga (sp?) or Brian Cushing both from USC would be good. Tyson Jackson is another we might pick up.

Turner, White, Gonzalez and Ryan. Explosive arsenal for he Falcons next year. Have no clue what the Chiefs were doing with this deal.

EDIT: And just on ESPN now apparently talks between the Lions and Stafford aren't going great and they are looking at the possibility of shopping their pick.

He wanted to leave, plus he's getting older now was the best move they could do. But those Falcons are going to be tough next year.

The best thing that the Lions could do is not pick Stafford, take Curry or that lineman (Smith?). Then (assuming they still don't win many games) they could have a go at Bradford, McCoy or Tebow, much better than going with Stafford.

I like the look of McCoy but, IMO, Tebow isnt better than 4th round value.

I dont like picking QBs high in the first round. You are virtually automatically killing your team for the next couple of seasons and you nearly always need to play them as you have so much invested.

IMO, far better to draft for value lower down and allow guys to compete with veterans for the starting job or sit for a couple of seasons and learn the game.

Is it just me or does this draft seem pretty thin?

No beasts at the end, no uber-prospect QBs and the best WR is injured.

O-line looks the deepest position.

I think Id have to draft the best player available first and that would probably be Eugene Monroe.

Crabtree is one of those guys that if he falls to 6-10 then you grab him as a steal, but I think it would be a gamble to trade up for him. Too many red flags.

Will be interesting.

I personally don't like Tebow either, but the media hype around him will force a 1st round pick from someone. And a team like the Lions might try something with him (I mean if they can't get much worse.) like a spread offense.

No matter how bad some teams are in the draft (Im looking at you Lions) I cant see anyway a team spends a 1st round pick on Tebow next year. They must have scouts.

He isnt an elite NFL QB prospect.

There will certainly be a lot of media hype, but I think the front office guys will be able to look past that.

Like Lions have been doing better with all their top picks in last 5-6 years.:laugh: And I dont think you have to always play the QB you draft, if you can have someone better . Look at Cards, Browns where Leinart and Quinn are warming the bench.

On the offensive side only a QB is worth taking as opposed to the Wide Receivers or say OL etc. It is a risk but so is every other pick. I was reading somewhere and the success ratio of a top pick QB was better than any other pick.

One only has to look at Vince Young.

Yeah, Detroit aren't really in a great position with their pick. It would probably make sense for them to trade down, but who's gonna want to trade up?

Detroit are more likely to let themselves be skipped than trade - who wants the pick?!?!

And I disagree about taking a QB "automatically killing your team for the next couple of seasons" - look at the Falcons and the Ravens last year. I don't hate the Lions not taking a QB 1st overall, but name a really good NFL team without a good QB, it pretty much doesn't happen.

And Tim Tebow should never be an NFL starting QB. He might make a good HB or FB, who takes a few snaps a game, Wildcat-style...

Pat White looks like a Wildcat guy this year too, will be interesting to see where he ends up, and if he even stays a quarterback.

Thing with drafting a QB in the first round, it's probably your best bet to find a good one, even if it isn't particularly likely. It's harder to bank on finding a Brady, Romo or Warner-type, than a first rounder, though there is the financial aspect. Damn hard to a find a franchse QB really, as my Vikings know all to well.

Or Ben Roethllisberger, Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers in 2004.
