**Official** New Zealand v Australia

Jnr.

First Class Debutant
The Kiwis really need to sort out their fast bowlers, with or without Bond/Oram. That was terrible.

We really need Bond, Vettori and Oram if we wanted to get a win now against Australia. Our bowling attack is pitiful we don't have a great range of bowlers in this match and that has been shown in this enevitable loss
I'd throw Scott Styris in that group too. That extra bowling option is crucial to the side's success, as is Jacob Oram's. With the series already lost, I don't really blame the selectors for resting Vettori, but he's been brilliant during the early part of the series and without him the side really struggled today.

To be fair, the ball with which he was dismissed would have got a lot better player out.

His bowling has potential. Good action and pace but lacking in consistency.

The problem is his age.

If he was early 20s, I'd say stick with him.
Well as I said, give him another chance in Napier, if he fails again there, it's time to send him back to domestic level.

Harsh call against McMillan there, Clarke very lucky to not be given out LBW.

So drop
Wilson
Hamilton

But who to bring in?
James Franklin for Hamilton, although I can't see that happening somehow. Wilson will probably stay, unless Andre Adams recovers.

That was a truely dismal performance again.
Sorry to Australia for not being able to give you a decent series. We've been shite. I think the selectors have got it all wrong but the players and coach need to share the blame with them.
I would like to say we'll give you a run for your money in the tests but fear it could just get worse.

Hamilton just bowled too short at the start, if he can sort that out in the next game, he would be handy.

I am worried that the Black Caps back lash from the two Aussie series defeats will result in them rebounding against Sri Lanka, and I fear SL (my Team) is going to be at the receiving end of a severe beating from the Black Caps after the Aussie series finishes. :( :( :(

He went for over 8 an over. Sorry Ming, I know you're a fan of his but he doesn't do it for me. Wilson hasn't been up to it either and may be remembered as one of the greatest All Blacks but one of the worst ever Black Caps it's sad to say. I really hoped he'd do well as it's pretty awesome effort to even get back in the side.
Can't see any light at the end of the tunnel while we have all these injured players and the selectors play it so safe picking journeymen and refusing to give some youngsters a crack. Cumming's selection will only chip away his confidence more and they'll probably play him in the tests.

astle is out for the 5th and final game. (thank god, the pain will soon be over, only 3 more tests to go )
thoughts on the game. . .. well i hardly saw any of it as i had cricket practice after school.
wilson - absolutely awful, i think he has had a fair go to be honest and it is blatantly obvious that he can't stand up to international standard (much like the rest of the team).
mills - not to bad, i have been impressed with his bowling , although not extremely economical he isn't as bad as some of the others.
cairns - great to see him finally get a start, but looks a bit out of form and should have pushed on from the 30 odd to 50 +.
fleming - started - should have pushed on very disappointing series.
astle - started- again should have pushed on.

we are really missing the likes of styris and oram, because they have the experience, can bowl good lines and lengths and can bowl maidens which seems to be lacking in the black caps at the moment.

My team for the 5th game would be

S Fleming
B McCullum
H Marshall
R Taylor
J Marshall
C McMillan
C Cairns
A Adams
J Patel
K Mills
G Aldridge

thats a pretty extreme shake up... but its what we need.

my only problem is that its throwing young blood straight into the shark tank vs the best team in the world.. but we need to do something to win the last game.. its really important for us due to our ranking and World Cup Draw...

I'd like to see Cairns bat around 5 or so. He's the most dangerous batsman in the New Zealand team, and is a lot more than a slogger and can forge big innings on his day. He's wasted at 7, especially when batting first.

Jeetan Patel? Sure, we need a back up spinner to Vettori in ODIs but I'm not sure Patel's ready for the international arena yet...

Mills has not been successful recently, so why is he still considered and an automatic selection?

7-1-37-0 is pretty good when the opposition get to 230 in 35 overs...He also bowled well in Auckland in his first 7 overs before 2 shockers at the death. I think he deserves his spot at the moment.
