Oh look Craig Ervine scored a ton. I was surprised to see it's his first before remembering that Craig and Sean are different.

A year and a week since his brilliant 130* against New Zealand in an ODI, so we didn't lack for footage of his strengths.

91Jmay wants to know for sure that the Seddon Park cretin in the gif isn't Blocky I think, and no, it's not.

Howsie or Flem are the ones to avail you with a pic, and possibly the Netherlands club stats, of the real Blocky.

Think this workout will do NZ the world of good. Put some overs into Soults legs and a few of the SA pitches have gone flat recently so is a good experience.

Not Terrible
Southee and Boult also looked pretty good yesterday. Looked genuinely close to being their old selves.

Great stuff Zim and Ervine in particular was superb.

Interesting last two days in prospect.

Not much has been said about it, but it was literally like someone flicked a switch in Boult in the middle session yesterday. Suddenly went from the 127-133 km range he's been at series to date, to about 135-142km, (with 1 delivery @ 144) for no apparent reason. It wasn't a case of a dodgy speed gun either.... it was really noticeable in his approach to the wicket. Even more pleasing was the little bit of late-swing he was getting.

Really promising signs for when the real tour begins.

The two tests are in Durban & Centurion, not sure how those two pitches have played of late.
