Hmm so if Jadeja won't let Akash get any runs, and wants to score them all himself he would have to get to 168*. Would be a handy 4th innings knock maybe the highest winning one ever?

Kohli doesn't do better than a 70-80 odd at best regardless of the pitch these days unless it's a disgraceful road. Could do relatively ok on spicy decks like he did in SA .
This is almost word to word what's happened to Smith too, so it's almost certainly aging dulling mental sharpness and concentration.

You just KNOW that these selectors don’t do stuff like dropping people without giving a multitude of chances.
I mean, giving guys decent chances is in general a good selection policy. You don't get good results by constantly chopping and changing and dropping players after one bad performance. But there's a point where you give too much rope, and when those players are aging rather than youngsters, you need to make a change.
