The top order certainly are in need of some batting practice judging by their performances yesterday, so that is an idea Fleming should definitely consider. But a victory inside three days could also have some appeal...

46/7. Feel sorry for the Zimbabwean supporters, although judging from the crowd attendance there aren't many of those.
With a bit of luck, they could do it in 2 days. First innings wil lprobably take less than 1.5 sessions to wrap up.
And the less international cricket played in Zimbabwe, the better.

That looked pretty much plumb to me...still, 51/8, a bit rude to complain about decisions really!

How come Franklin and Bond only got 5 overs each, when they had taken 4 wickets between them? Very odd.
Share the wickets around Sean and ensure there are no injuries!

Don't enforce the follow on, we will still win as there has been no rain in Harare since March.
Bat till the end of the third day, absolutely smash the bowling attack, score around 600.
Still got 2 days to bowl them out.

Sounds like a plan to me.
What other international cricket do we have coming up? Hardly any.

I say enforce the follow on. I don't care what anyone says, this is still a test match and we should try and win as comprehensively as possible.

Also what happens if Lou and James Marshall were to get out cheaply again in the second innings? It could create more problems

I believe they should bat again and allow the top order another chance to score some test runs. Anyway, winning the match by 700 runs would be comprehensive enough for me. Give the crowd their money's worth.

Very lopsided morning's cricket. The NZ bowlers have kept good channels, and have managed to get a fair bit of movement on a cloudless day, but the batting has been somewhat abysmal. So many attempted leaves against Martin and Bond after not learning the lessons of their inswingers.

I say we enforce the follow-on - test cricket is about being ruthless.

I think the reason Oram is not in the team he has said himself time and time again that he doesn't wanna play for NZ as a batsman or a bowler he wants to play as a all-rounder.

If that was the case, I doubt Oram would even be there for the test portion of the tour. He was only just starting to bowl off five paces in Australia last month with a reworked action, so he was never going to be a frontline bowling option this soon.

I thought it was always Cairns who kept saying he only wanted to play if he could bat and bowl, whereas Oram was actually more than willing to play as a specialist batsman at Headingley last year (being one of our better performers in that match with 39 and 36* at number 6).

Well thats the reason I think when he hurt himself the last time he could of batted but didn't (he said in a interview)

Yeah time to start getting an aggressive mode going ! i agree!

59 AO is pretty poor.. even Bang did better against England recently.. Nz = world champions ? :p lol...! if bond can stick around longer its a lot of good news for all of us :)

Zim 5/1 now Franklin gets the first wicket :)

Our bowlers and batsmen should aim to improve their career averages throughout this tour :)
