*Official* New Zealand in West Indies, AUG 10 to 21, 2022

For someone who was lauded for how he's improved his batting against spinners, Powell has looked lost at times playing against spin bowling recently.

Agree about Shepherd, looks a 'bits n pieces' player.
Powell was just interviewed by Ganga and he said that he's aware of his deficiencies...and the team's to a larger extent. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores close to a 100 today.

Regarding Shepherd, he is more of a red ball bowler. In the limited-overs formats, he's trying too hard to bowl yorkers and change of pace...and that doesn't fit his MO.

Anyways, NZ are batting first again.

That Windies lineup.... Way too many all-rounders and two awful T20 batsmen in specialist batting positions.

Yet another different opening bowling combination....

I honestly don't know what the plan is.

On commentary, it has been highlighted that players are being rested for the ODIs...so all of this, this circus...is them experimenting and chilling.

I HATE everytime anyone mentions macewell as a bowling option, mcmillan just mentioning that we have 3 frontline spinners today, and phillips is the 4th as part time option....ugh

Stop this macewell being a good bowler narrative ffs NZC

That's a top first over from Holder. I'd bring Obed for one more over to finish the powerplay and right away introduce spin. The wicket is gripping a bit.

Walsh's first indicated a lack of turn on the surface. All of the balls lacked turn and grip. He duly went for 11 runs on the over.

Here's Holder for his 3rd consecutive over
