Bowled himself out of the England series, not a wicket taker and offers no control. Wagner hasn't really impressed as well. Thinks he is quicker than he is.

Gazza, franchise coaches, senior players & selectors know what they see in FC cricket with Elgar and when he gets in he usually scores big big hundreds. Just part of the process by Gazza and the selectors by intoducing Elgar into ODI cricket and then into the number 7 spot in test cricket. So when the time comes to open he has been part of the group and not totally new to the international arena.

Not sure it's fair including Mason in with Arnel. Should've had the opportunity to bowl in more than one test at least.

Yeah, said the same when I saw him New Zealand. Love his action. Strong and repetitive as well.
Bracewell's last ten tests : 19 wickets @ 52. Might be more Arnel than you think...

Certainly lost a bit of the shape he had on the ball for the period prior to this series.
Actually both Bracewell and Southee have improved recently, case of Bondy coaching or was he there for their downfall too?

Still young & NZL have been forced to pick young bowlers with not much FC experience.
I just think a lot of the raw materials are there. I would persevere with him. He is still young and his game should grow. That is just my opinion.

If his current level of performance carries on much longer I'll probably start hating him, but: I still enjoy watching Bracewell bowl. His action DOES look strong and repeatable. When you're watching Wagner or Boult you're never sure if you're gonna get the 125kph stuff or the 140kph stuff.
