The Wheel is Forever
If I was NZC (or a NZ fan), I would fuming right now. They've been at the ****-end so many times this series, it's ridiculous.

Let the players decide who wins, not the umpires. FFS.

I'm all for UDRS, but aren't these neutral umpires with same rules applying to both sides? All this hoohaa makes it seem like some 130 odd years of Test cricket never happened.

There was seven decisions that went against us in the first test. I'm not even joking, that's how many. You tell me that's fair.

It isn't. But for all you know, it might be India on the receiving end later on in the game. These things have a way of evening out usually..unless someone feels the umps are in the pay of the BCCI.

If that were the case I'd suggest both the umpires start looking for a new job.

Sigh, Guptill. What the hell was that.

Nah, I think what we are seeing is neutral umpires favouring the dominant team, particularly the dominant team at home, as umpires tend to do on average across all sports.

Rather reminds me of teams playing Australia, especially in Australia, most of last decade. By and large, more decisions went Australia's way. Or conversely, Bangladesh were on the wrong end of a lot of umpiring decisions last time they toured us. One of the great things about DRS is it removes this inherent bias and makes lesser teams more able to challenge stronger teams.

In saying all of this, I doubt either McCullum or Williamson would have reviewed those today even if we did have UDRS - would have felt out imo.

Watching Guptill's dismissal again, it really wasn't a bad ball to try to attack and hit over the top - was just terribly executed

Yadav doesn't swing it or move it off the seam. Is he being selected just because he can bowl 140+? Needs to play FC cricket and pick up more skills imo.

That's the key point. Neutral umpires/referees tend to favour the home team. It's a well known phenomenon across many sports.

He's very inconsistent with his wrist action. Goes through periods where he can't get it right at all and then suddenly starts swinging it.

He has always bowled on a good length at 135-145 without much else happening whenever I have seen him bowl.
