Indeed, but that still puzzles me a bit. The shine of the new ball is supposed to assist fast bowlers. Since that shine only lasts a limited number of overs, it doesn't make sense to waste them....

You listed out each player at the time and compared their test records to their FC records and pointed out the similarities. Was when Flynn was in the team if I recall correctly.

The only perplexing problem with the findings of your analysis is that you would think that Sinclair would do well.

Vaguely remember that actually. Very little difference between first class and test records in several cases. Vincent's were virtually identical.

That was going off averages with test stats included though. Might do another one with the real domestic averages at some point.
