Wow, McCullum ramping it up from low 100s to low 110s.

Watching McCullum makes me pretty confident I bowl over 110 though tbh
You'd be surprised. Professional cricketers are generally at their physical peaks and talented athletes, so they look a lot worse than they are. Damien Martyn's ability to meander in and bowl 125km/hr without breaking a sweat or looking remotely like a bowler is a good example.

you probably do based on some of your posts in the coaching/fast bowling thread.

Most club medium pacers bowl 110 in my opinion.

Vettori is our #1 spinner and captain. We entered the 5th day of a test staring at a famous victory if we could dismiss the Indian tail. Instead we allowed the #8 batsman to do something he had never done before and something that had not occurred in test cricket for 75 years. If I'm blaming anyone, it's gotta be (a) the #1 spinner, (b) the captain.
Accept what Vettori is - a good holding bowler. We do NOT have another spinner close to being as good as him... I mean, just look at Patel.

On this pitch, against Laxman and friends, with a useless spinner, a holding spinner and one fast man as a bowling attack, from the very start of the day the odds were that we'd struggle to take wickets fast enough to make a game of it. Martin's performance yesterday was an anomaly; today was normal service. Harbhajan had a bit of luck and that's all a player like that needs.

Personally I think this is an excellent result for the NZ team.

On a side note, India had the chance to win four consecutive Tests for the first time in my memory, if we hadn't collapsed early in the 2nd innings. :( Don't think we'll ever get the opportunity again.

EDIT : We did do it against SL late last year and Bangladesh early this year.

Yeah, this. Seen it in plenty of players I've played with/against, who were rapid by club standards yet looked pedestrian on tv.

Batting practise time.... And McIntosh fails!

At least he didn't use his one good score per series today. Clearly saving up for a big 73 (412) in the next test.

Sree atleast get it on line. The thought of one of Sree or Ishant bowling with the new ball in SA makes me want to cry. Unless we somehow get the Sreesanth of the 2006-07 tour to SA back.

 McIntosh. Worst "batsmen" playing test cricket.
Scoring runs in domestic cricket and failing in international cricket > not scoring runs in any cricket.
McIntosh > Watling.
Admittedly I doubt it'll stay that way forever but as it stands it's definitely true IMO.
