How **** is Cricinfo ball-by-ball for this match? So much rubbish from the contributors, trying to be funny. Argh can't take it. Yet I can't watch the match or listen to the Sofa because I'm doing an essay. :(

Yeah I rubbished it earlier to Phlegm. Very poor this match.

The commentators are worshiping Williamson
Was thinking today that our premier batsmen have so much pressure on them not only from expectations but need. Everyone knows our top three has been **** for years bar Richardson, Fleming and to a lesser extent Vincent and Horne. Guys like Taylor come in at 30/3 almost every innings and have the hopes of the entire country on them. It's not like being Sachin at all but it's still a fair amount of pressure.

Didn't they spend all of yesterday talking about a Battrick player or something?
Justin Green made me grin tbh.

Mark Wales exists though, assuming its the same Mark Wales.

Haven't been able to follow this as closely as I'd like but great to see some good performances on days 2 and 3. I struggle to understand how India got themselves all out for as little as 487 but it gives us a great chance to draw this test. With Ryder back and Williamson being a legend our batting on paper is surely the best we've had in years (pity about the bowling). If we can bat out two sessions and get close to level before we're all out then I think India will struggle to force a result. On the other hand if our remaining batting only lasts around one session today then we're in trouble.

Would still like to see a different bowling attack in the second test and not just replacing the injured Bennett. I couldn't guarantee Southee or Arnel would have ended with any better figures than Martin and Patel in this match, on tough pitches against quality batsmen; I just think they're better. I do think Martin probably has some value in the team as 'senior pace bowler' to help the other fast men bowl to plan, advise etc. But that's fairly nullified when you only play one other fast bowler. I had thought Arnel would take over that seniority from Martin this series but that doesn't work very well if he's not playing.
