It's all about levels lads, after all there's a REASON why NZ are ranked where they are. And that reason is nine times out of ten they will fail in one facet or another during a game. In this game their bowling held up nicely but the batting has failed, that's just the way it goes.
It's also interesting to note that when they've beaten one of the higher ranked sides of late it's when they've bowled last, not batted. Hell that was evident in the last test vs England in NZ recently when they came so close to winning.
Southee has been a revelation over the last year but the way Broad has gotten wickets for fun too suggests this pitch was certainly made for the pacers. In a way this test has highlighted two things that have developed over the last few months, firstly NZ's attack has vastly improved and secondly England's batting has regressed. It will be interesting to see if both of those notions remain true in the next few years.

The thing is, every bowler in the world including Ishant Sharma will bowl a good spell.
They just shouldn't get so many wickets in those spells.
This has just been completely gutting. It's been excellent bowling but can't they just go past the outside edge ffs?
